With her courage, intelligence, dedication and passion for the profession, Captain Tran Thi Mai Lien deserves to be a typical example of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

At the age of 35 with 11 years of working in the Vietnam Coast Guard, not only is she an Assistant of Taxation, Customs, Commerce/Legal Department/Command of Coast Guard Region 3 with courage, intelligence, dedication and passion for the profession, Captain Tran Thi Mai Lien is also the Vice President of the Women's Association of the Command of the Region, dynamic, enthusiastic, humane and creative. Besides being a diligent legal officer, she is also an enthusiastic "Movement Leader", a female soldier who possesses the qualities of "Intelligence - Courage - Discipline - Humanity" of the new era.

Born in Hai Phong - a land rich in revolutionary tradition, Tran Thi Mai Lien was soon instilled with a resilient spirit and strong will to live. After graduating with a degree in Business Law from the National Economics University, instead of choosing a leisurely path, she was determined to follow in her mother's footsteps - becoming a female soldier in the Vietnam Coast Guard. That choice not only carried the ideal of serving the Fatherland but also marked the beginning of a journey full of courage, enthusiasm and a desire to contribute.

As Assistant to the Legal Department, Captain Tran Thi Mai Lien constantly studies, practices, improves her professional qualifications, regularly updates the legal document system, and performs well in tasks such as handling administrative violations, managing state assets, spending funds, organizing legal propaganda, etc. In advising on the fight against law violations at sea, the female Coast Guard officer always upholds the principle of "no wrongful convictions, no criminals left behind", resolutely advising on handling the right person, the right crime, and the right law. Her clear, straightforward working style and emphasis on accuracy and discipline help her gain the trust of her superiors and the love of her teammates.

Along with professional work, on the Association's front, Captain Tran Thi Mai Lien also stands out as an exemplary, creative and flexible Association officer. As Vice President of the Women's Association of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, she is always active in advising on building action plans and effectively implementing practical models such as: "1000 VND House - Recycling Friday". With compassion, she and the unit and the Association called for the establishment of a "Golden Heart Fund" to support disadvantaged women members at the unit and locality, women in remote areas and orphans and poor children to overcome difficulties. The activities of the Women's Association have always achieved outstanding results, which have been highly appreciated by all levels over the years. Contributing to these common achievements are the dynamism, enthusiasm, direction of the leader and the solidarity between the collective and individuals in the Women's Association.

To improve the quality of the Association's activities, Captain Lien realized that solidarity and unity are the most important things. From there, she aimed to organize training models, training courses, and sports playgrounds to unite the members of the Association such as: establishing a folk dance club, organizing soft skills training classes for members, and giving talks on prominent issues related to work, life, and communication. She directly participated in maintaining common activities and sports movements that inspired and created a strong influence to build a spirit of competition in the Association.

Propaganda work on seas and islands and traditional education is a rosy painting on the career of Captain Tran Thi Mai Lien. Over the past 5 years, under the trust of commanders at all levels, she has participated with the unit in organizing nearly 40 "I love my homeland's seas and islands" contests in 9 southern coastal provinces and cities, bringing the image of the Vietnam Coast Guard closer to students and local people; at the same time, raising people's awareness and responsibility for the sovereignty, security and economic development of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Captain Lien is also the main propagandist, leading many teams to win high prizes such as: First and Second Prizes in the "Young Propagandists", "Skillful Mass Mobilization", "Excellent Women's Union Officer" Competitions at the Coast Guard Command. In 2024, at the "Young Propagandists of the entire army" Competition, he was commended by the General Department of Politics, awarded a personal certificate of merit and contributed to helping the team win the Excellent Emulation Flag. These are outstanding achievements affirming the mettle and talent of a professional propagandist in the Army.

Not only shining at work, Ms. Lien is also a solid support in the family. In the midst of a busy work schedule, she always manages to take care of the housework, takes care of her children, and builds a happy and harmonious family. At the same time, she actively participates in local activities, lives simply, sincerely, and is close to the people, and is loved and trusted by the people. In 2024, Captain Lien was awarded a Certificate of Merit by her unit in the movement "The Army joins hands to build new rural areas" for the period 2020 - 2025.

In recognition of her outstanding efforts and achievements in professional work as well as movement activities, Captain Tran Thi Mai Lien has been awarded many noble awards at all levels: Title of "Outstanding Women's Union Member of the Army", "Outstanding Outstanding Women's Officer", Title of "Outstanding Model Woman" awarded by the Women's Union of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province (formerly); 2 Certificates of Merit from the Director of the General Department of Politics, 2 Certificates of Merit from the Coast Guard Command, 2 titles of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level and 6 Certificates of Merit from all levels, departments, etc.

With her intelligence, moral qualities, progressive spirit and high responsibility in work, Captain Tran Thi Mai Lien is honored to be recommended by the Women's Association of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command as a typical advanced woman at the Coast Guard Command level for the period 2020-2025, worthy of being a model of "Coast Guard women with intelligence - courage - completing tasks well - building happy families - worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era".
