(Dan Tri) - Despite kneeling and begging in front of the management office for 90 minutes, a female student in China still could not leave the dormitory before 6:30 a.m. and had to miss her flight home to see her dying relative.
Recently, many students at Guangdong Ecological Engineering Polytechnic (China) posted on social media about a female student who did not have time to see her relatives for the last time.

The female student said that at midnight, she suddenly heard that a relative was in critical condition. Therefore, she booked a flight back to her hometown at 7:30 the next day and informed the person in charge of supervising students.
However, at 5am the next day, when the female student left the dormitory to catch her flight home, the manager refused to open the gate. This person claimed that the regulations did not allow students to leave the dormitory before 6:30am and after 11pm.
The girl begged the manager for an hour and a half, even kneeling in front of the office, but he did not react and remained sitting on the bed.
"I will only open the gate if the student can present a certificate from the student affairs office," the dormitory manager told the female student.
The girl also tried calling her supervisor and homeroom teacher but received no response.
In the end, the female student missed her flight and the chance to see her relatives for the last time.
On November 25, a school representative confirmed that the dormitory manager had mishandled the incident. The property management company, which is in charge of human resources here, also transferred both managers involved in the incident to other positions and deducted their bonuses as a punishment.
The school is committed to retraining dormitory management staff to be able to handle emergencies flexibly, ensuring the rights of students.
The post about the incident on social media has attracted the attention of the online community. Many people criticized the manager's mechanical handling of the situation. However, many people believe that the manager was only doing his job because he was afraid of causing trouble if he did something wrong.
Previously, on November 24, a female student at Zibo Vocational College (Shandong Province, China) also complained that the dormitory manager refused to let a male medical staff in to assist her when she was having difficulty breathing. The female student was later diagnosed with respiratory alkalosis.
