Nvidia is about to launch the RTX 4070 Super GPU series.

According to Wccftech , leaked information posted on a forum for Nvidia's GPU partners in China indicates that Nvidia will introduce three RTX 4070 Super GPU models on January 8th, just one day before the opening of CES 2024. Following the introduction, Nvidia will make the new GPUs available to its partners, with the first products going on sale on January 17th, followed by the RTX 4070 Ti Super on January 24th and the RTX 4080 Super on January 31st.

The RTX 4070 Super series promises improved performance compared to its predecessor.

Nvidia's new GPUs are expected to deliver only modest performance gains over their predecessors, with the 4070 variants being a more significant upgrade than the 4080 as they are more accessible to most people due to their lower price and adequate resolution.

Regarding upgrades in the new Super GPU line, initial reports indicated Nvidia would bring up to 20GB of VRAM to the RTX 4080 Super, but this remains a big question mark. Meanwhile, the RTX 4070 Ti Super is expected to offer a VRAM upgrade from the current 12GB to 16GB, much to the delight of many gamers. It also brings a much-needed increase in memory bus speed, from 192-bit to 256-bit.

The RTX 4070 Super still has 12 GB of VRAM but gets more CUDA cores, from 5,888 to 7,168. Additionally, there are rumors that the card will use the new 12VHPWR connector – a significant change as the current version uses the older 8-pin connector. The increase in CUDA cores will also require a 20W increase in TDP, bringing the total to 220W.

The success of these cards will depend on their price. Except for the RTX 4090, the other members of the current RTX 40 series GPUs aren't particularly impressive in terms of power and efficiency, yet they're sold at high prices, disappointing gamers.
