On the evening of August 2nd, authorities in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, were still coordinating with relevant units to investigate the car fire inside the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Thiem tunnel).

According to initial information, at approximately 6:30 PM, a car with a Lam Dong province license plate suddenly caught fire in the Saigon River tunnel heading from District 1 to Thu Duc City.
The incident caused a prolonged traffic jam on the road through the Saigon River tunnel.
