Three cars caught fire after a series of collisions on the Van Phong - Nha Trang highway

At about 0:10 a.m. on December 6, on the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway, section Km 345+400 in Nam Ninh Hoa commune, Khanh Hoa province, a series of traffic accidents occurred between three cars traveling in the same direction towards Van Phong, then a large fire broke out.

According to initial information, the vehicles involved include: Passenger car with license plate 50H-40823 driven by driver Pham Cong Hien (born in 1979, residing in Quang Ngai city); truck with license plate 89C-20305 driven by driver Chu Van Son (born in 1990, residing in Tam Chuc ward, Ninh Binh province); tractor with license plate 77C-17289 pulling trailer 77R-03240 driven by driver Le Duy Hong (born in 1970, residing in quarter 2, Hoai Nhon ward, Gia Lai province).

After the collision, the front of the 77C-17289 tractor-trailer caught fire, the fire quickly spread to truck 89C-20305 and passenger bus 50H-40823. All three vehicles were burned, of which the truck and passenger bus were completely burned, the front of the tractor-trailer was burned. The fire did not cause any human casualties.

The preliminary cause was determined to be that tractor trailer 77C-17289 did not keep a safe distance from truck 89C-20305; the truck driver also did not keep a safe distance from passenger bus 50H-40823 in front.

Immediately after the incident, the Nam Ninh Hoa Commune Police coordinated with the Traffic Police Department to organize traffic flow, regulate traffic and protect the scene. The professional units of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police and the Procuracy are conducting a crime scene investigation, collecting evidence to serve the investigation of the cause of the accident according to regulations.
