
Tra Vinh University is a public university, formerly known as Tra Vinh Community College, established in 2001 on the basis of implementing the Vietnam - Canada Community College Project. Over the past time, the University has continuously improved the quality of training, scientific research, innovation, digital transformation, making practical contributions to the development of high-quality human resources in Vinh Long province and the Mekong Delta region.
In particular, the School is licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training to enroll students nationwide in 41 postgraduate majors. Of which, 10 are doctoral majors, 27 are master's majors, 9 are level I specialist training majors, and 1 is level II specialist training major. Up to now, the School has awarded doctoral degrees to more than 30 graduate students in many majors; on average, each year, the School awards graduation degrees and recognizes the completion of master's training programs to about 800 graduate students.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector of Tra Vinh University, said that over the years, the University has achieved many important achievements in training, scientific research, international cooperation and digital transformation. In 2025, Tra Vinh University will rise strongly on the WURI Ranking (the world's leading innovative universities), ranked 29/400 of the world's leading innovative universities, up 13 places compared to 2024.
On the UI GreenMetric rankings (an annual international ranking of sustainable university performance), Tra Vinh University ranked 133/1,477 global universities, continuing to be among the top green universities in Vietnam. The university also made its mark with 3 consecutive years of receiving the National Digital Transformation Award and was recently honored at the SEI Awards 2025 in the category of “Smart Education Initiative”.

The quality of training and international accreditation has been greatly improved. By 2025, Tra Vinh University had 27 training programs accredited according to international standards FIBAA, ABET, AUN; becoming one of the universities with the largest number of internationally accredited programs in the Mekong Delta region.
The Rector of Tra Vinh University affirmed that in the coming time, the University will continue to innovate, improve the quality of training, build a professional and modern educational environment, meet the needs of quality human resources and highly qualified intellectuals for the Mekong Delta in particular and the whole country in general.
