In August, Vietnam Women's Publishing House published two poetry collections , "Children learn to be adults" and "Green garden" by author - architect Chau An Khoi (real name Bui Van Huy, 42 years old).
As a father of three children who loves children, Huy is always enthusiastic about instructing people on how to make recycled toys for their children through his own YouTube channel, and is also passionate about composing children's poetry.
The two poetry books above belong to the Poetry series for children to practice reading fluently and expressively , including short, rhyming poems with familiar, humorous content, and designed with interesting interactive sections such as: Sticking pictures, coloring pictures, connecting pictures, quizzes...

In these two poetry collections, children will become familiar with the surrounding nature (leaves, raindrops, sunshine...), cute little animals (worms, chicks...), and household items (clocks, cups of water...).
Children will also experience rural life through images of grandfather weaving brooms, mother drying rice, etc. The noisy life in the city will be slowed down by images of traffic lights when children cross the street.
In addition, children will also get acquainted with plants associated with Vietnamese villages and the process of fighting against invaders to protect the country, such as bamboo (which accompanied Saint Giong in fighting foreign invaders and building houses...) or familiar images of peaceful villages.
"Newly hatched chicks
Show off your golden fur
Shining like the color of the sun
like thin silk
(Excerpt from the poem Chicken ).
"Summer festival on the pond bank
Dragonflies and stink bugs fluttered about with their wings spread out.
(Excerpt from the poem " The Pond Bank ").
Short poems, familiar language, funny poetic voice help children read and remember easily. In addition, vivid illustrations with bright colors also create opportunities for children to get familiar with color blocks, helping their imagination develop.
Reading activities need to take place with curiosity and excitement, thanks to which children remember words faster and expand their vocabulary better. When reading actively, children will soon progress to reading fluently and expressively, while developing the ability to think and concentrate during the reading process.

Architect Bui Van Huy started writing poetry in 2019 after his third child was born. Watching his children grow up day by day with their innocent, pure and lovely childhood, he wondered:
"Why don't I write down my childhood somehow, so that my children can read it again later and know how interesting our childhood was!"
Born and raised in the countryside of Hung Yen , Huy's childhood was associated with bamboo hedges, rivers, pond banks, rice fields, red brick village roads, green fields, summer afternoons filled with clover and the fragrant golden scent of ripe rice.
He witnessed the harvest seasons filled with laughter and chatter in the fields, along the village roads from early morning until dark, summer afternoons flying kites, bathing in the river with friends, herding buffalo, cutting grass, working in the fields picking potatoes, planting rice...
"These memories have always followed me until now, whenever I reminisce they make my heart flutter. They are all my childhood," he said.

In his first poems, Huy wrote a lot about his hometown with his childhood memories. His poems were published in poetry pages and local literary and art magazines, and were commented as "having innocent, simple and pure language".
When people suggested he write children's poems, the male architect gradually explored "a new land".
The father of three children realizes that children are a very unique, innocent and pure world . He wants to contribute a small part to add a new color to the joyful world of children's literature.
Like many other authors, he hopes to spread the love of literature, sowing beautiful verses and funny sounds into the hearts of children. Then one day, when they grow up, they will love life and family more, have an open mind, know how to sympathize, share and be tolerant.
"I believe that as long as I have a connection with poetry, I will continue to create and accompany it," he said.
Holding in their hands the two poetry books Baby Learns to Be an Adult and Dad's Green Garden , Mr. Huy's children went from feeling curious to surprised when at the end of the book there were also beautiful and vivid stickers. Those stickers will fill the gaps under the poems.
"I see that artist Kim Duan and the Editorial Board of the Vietnamese Women's Publishing House have made great efforts and creativity to bring many surprises in the intention of actively interacting with young readers. Not only reading books, children can peel, stick pictures, color together...", the author commented.
Huy's poems about his homeland and for children have been published in literary and artistic magazines in localities such as Thai Nguyen, Binh Dinh, Vinh Phuc ... and Thieu Nien Tien Phong and Nhi Dong newspapers.
In addition, the poem was also published in the publication Nham nhi Tet of Kim Dong Publishing House, Tan Suu year (2021), the book Poetry for children to learn to speak of Thanh Nien Publishing House (2021), the book of poems co-printed with the group of authors of Quan Chieu Van (2022).
