On the morning of September 23, the Congress of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and central mass organizations commenced its solemn session. General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and other leaders and former leaders of the Party and State attended the congress.

In his opening remarks at the congress, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, Do Van Chien, emphasized that the first Congress of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations has very important political significance, not only laying the foundation for the leadership of the Party Committee in this term but also guiding the leadership of the Party Committee in subsequent terms.

According to Mr. Do Van Chien, the Party Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and central mass organizations for the 2025-2030 term is the first congress to implement the new model, comprehensively leading the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, and people's mass organizations.

The Congress defined the theme: "Building a clean and strong Party organization; vigorously reforming thinking and leadership methods; gathering and mobilizing all strata of the people to promote democracy and the strength of national unity, working together to enter an era of national development that is prosperous, thriving, civilized, and happy."

The Congress also identified tasks, including a comprehensive and in-depth assessment of the results of implementing the Resolution of the Congress for the 2020-2025 term; and the determination of the main directions, objectives, and tasks for the 2025-2030 term.

This also includes a review of the leadership and guidance work of the Party Committee Executive Board for the 2020-2025 term.

Mr. Do Van Chien also stated that the congress will discuss and provide feedback on the draft documents for the 14th Party Congress; and simultaneously implement the Politburo's decisions on personnel matters.

Promoting the people's right to self-governance.

Emphasizing the congress's motto as "Unity - Democracy - Creativity - Innovation - Development," Mr. Do Van Chien proposed that the congress discuss and contribute many relevant opinions to the draft documents submitted to the congress and the draft documents of the 14th Party Congress. In particular, he stressed the importance of content related to reforming the Party's leadership methods and the action programs of the Fatherland Front and other political and social organizations.

"We must thoroughly understand and effectively implement the guiding ideology of the Politburo and the Secretariat, as directed by General Secretary To Lam when he handed over the decision to establish the Party Committee and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front: 'a new model must have new thinking, new methods, and create new results'," Mr. Chien emphasized.

Party Committee Secretary Do Van Chien expressed confidence that with the special attention and close guidance of the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary To Lam, the first Party Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, for the 2025-2030 term, will be a great success.

The Congress will set forth the direction, objectives, tasks, and key solutions, providing comprehensive leadership and guidance for the activities of the Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, and mass associations assigned tasks by the Party and the State.

At the same time, we must fulfill our core political role, promote the people's right to self-governance, consolidate, strengthen, and promote the traditions and strength of national unity; working together to realize the aspiration of building a prosperous, strong, civilized, and happy socialist Vietnam in the new era.
