Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet is the Secretary of Da Nang for the new term.

The Da Nang City Party Congress announced Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet as Secretary of the City Party Committee along with 4 Deputy Secretaries.

On the morning of September 17, at the 1st Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, announced the Politburo 's decision on appointing the Party Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

The Da Nang City Party Executive Committee consists of 75 members, the City Party Standing Committee consists of 23 members. Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet is the City Party Secretary. The Deputy Secretaries include: Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Mr. Pham Duc An, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Chairman of the City People's Council; Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee.

Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, born in 1976, from Duy An commune, Duy Xuyen district, former Quang Nam. He has a Master's degree in Business Administration, Silicate Technology Engineer, and political theory level: advanced.

In early 2024, he became Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, and in July 2025 was assigned to be Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee (after the merger). In early September, the Politburo appointed him as Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, replacing Mr. Nguyen Van Quang.

On behalf of the Da Nang City Party Committee Executive Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized that this term takes place in a special context, when Quang Nam and Da Nang reunited after 28 years. On that foundation, the city sets out major commitments: building a strong Party, steadfast in goals, upholding principles, promoting internal solidarity and social consensus, striving to complete the Resolution for the 2025-2030 term.

Mr. Triet emphasized that each cadre needs to regularly cultivate ethics, train their mettle, improve their management capacity, overcome challenges and seize opportunities. "With the aspiration to rise, Da Nang after the merger will not only expand in scale but also make a breakthrough in quality, aiming to become a dynamic economic and social center of the Central region, a livable city, worth investing in and the pride of the people" - the Secretary of the City Party Committee affirmed.

He also stated that the motto of action is to be unanimous, resolute in innovation, practice what you preach, and take real effectiveness and people's benefits as a measure; at the same time, he hoped that the city would continue to receive the direction of the Central Government, the support of generations of leaders and all the people.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Tran Cam Tu, Standing Member of the Secretariat, congratulated and commended the comprehensive results that Da Nang city achieved in the past term. He assessed that despite facing difficulties from the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and global economic challenges, the Party Committee, government, and people of the city have united and made efforts to basically complete the goals.

Da Nang has achieved many achievements in socio-economics, tourism - services, infrastructure, administrative reform, innovation, social security, national defense and security and Party building. However, there are still limitations such as some targets have not been achieved, the economic scale is not commensurate, planning, investment and land management are still inadequate, the gap between urban and rural development is large, and health and education are still difficult.

The Standing Secretariat noted that Da Nang should continue to innovate, develop green economy, digital economy, improve people's lives and strive to become an international center.

The 1st Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee took place from September 17 to 18 at the City Political School with the participation of 450 official delegates and 98 invited guests. The Congress' motto is "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Creativity - Development".

The political report submitted to the Congress determined that in the 2026-2030 period, the city aims to maintain an average GRDP growth rate of 11% per year, budget revenue to increase by at least 10% per year, GRDP per capita to reach 8,500 USD, development investment capital in the area to reach more than 710,000 billion VND with an annual growth rate of 14%-15%. Six key areas are defined including tourism, logistics services, high-tech industry, information technology industry, high-tech agriculture and coastal urban chains.
