Putin warns if NATO helps Ukraine attack Russian soil

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 27 that the Russian Defense Ministry is studying different ways to respond if the United States and its NATO allies help Ukraine attack deep into Russian territory with long-range missiles provided by the West.

"(The Russian Defense Ministry) is considering how to respond to possible long-range strikes on Russian territory, they will come up with different responses," Putin told Russian state television reporter Pavel Zarubin, according to Reuters.

What did President Putin say about the story of Mr. Trump threatening to strike directly at Moscow?

Asked if the West had heard Russia's warning, Mr Putin told Zarubin: "I hope they have. Of course, we will have to make some decisions ourselves."

Mr Putin said that only NATO officers could fire long-range weapons at Russia and that they would need to use Western satellite data to fire such weapons. Therefore, the real question is "whether they will allow themselves to strike deep into Russian territory", Mr Putin said.

As of the evening of October 27, there was no information about NATO's or Ukraine's response to Mr. Putin's warning.
