On November 16, in Hanoi, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Transformation ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) held a press conference to introduce and provide official information about the National E-commerce Week Program and Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2023.

Speaking at the press conference, Ms. Le Hoang Oanh, Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, emphasized that Online Friday is a large-scale national program that provides businesses and consumers with opportunities to promote their brands and sell effectively.

Over the past 10 years, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has presided over and coordinated with ministries and branches, with the strong participation of domestic and foreign enterprises, to organize this Program, which is widely considered by consumers as a "special online shopping season" of the year.

This is one of the outstanding activities, included in the programs and tasks of the National E-commerce Development Program for the period 2021-2025 approved by the Government in Decision No. 645/QD-TTg dated May 20, 2020.

"The journey is not long but it is enough to affirm the role of connecting, cooperating and supporting government agencies with organizations, associations, infrastructure enterprises, and media agencies to cooperate to promote the e-commerce sector to contribute to the development of the digital economy according to the Government's orientation", Director Le Hoang Oanh affirmed.

According to Ms. Le Hoang Oanh, E-commerce Week will bring practical benefits to consumers when participating in shopping, while building a close and sustainable connection between the business community from manufacturers, distributors to units providing infrastructure services for e-commerce.

In order for the Program to become more practical and achieve more positive results, the leaders of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Transformation requested the Organizing Committee to coordinate well with businesses to provide information and create the best conditions for businesses to be able to implement smoothly.

In addition, businesses operating in the field of e-commerce need to make the most of available advantages, offer promotions and discounts to customers, and meet consumer needs at the end of the year.

In the coming time, the Program will continue to focus on practical support activities for businesses, building consumer trust through real promotional programs, serious companion programs of brands, businesses, large e-commerce platforms and sales support platforms.

The leaders of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Transformation hope that businesses, including e-commerce platforms, units providing digital transformation infrastructure solutions, infrastructure supporting secure payments in e-commerce, delivery logistics, and especially media agencies, will continue to accompany the Vietnam Online Shopping Day Program - Online Friday 2023 to contribute to the development of the digital economy according to the Government's orientation on promoting technological advantages and seizing opportunities brought about by the 4.0 Industrial Revolution taking place globally.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will always accompany all businesses across the country to continue to have the opportunity to promote the consumption of goods, contributing to the development of production and business, and consumers can easily choose goods at good prices, suitable to their needs.

Also in the past 10 years, Online Friday has become a very familiar event for businesses and people across the country. Notably, this year the Program's Organizing Committee has had practical and timely action plans towards protecting the rights of consumers in the online environment.

Specifically, right at the Program event, management agencies and e-commerce platforms, payment intermediaries, banks, etc. committed to join hands to build a sustainable e-commerce market during National E-commerce Week and Online Friday.

From this collaboration, e-commerce platforms and manufacturing enterprises will have a resonance to create an ecosystem to protect consumers. At the same time, together deploy many solutions to commit to product quality to bring a good experience for consumers and shoppers.

Within the framework of this year's National E-commerce Week, there will be activities such as: Vietnam E-commerce Development Conference; 60-hour online shopping event on online platforms in Vietnam; E-commerce and music experience festival at Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, Hanoi; propaganda, dissemination and experience activities for consumers, businesses and management agencies through the Digital Ecosystem to enhance consumer protection in e-commerce...
