Strive to exceed budget revenue targets for taxes, fees, and land use fees.

On the afternoon of April 15th, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to hear reports from the Provincial Tax Department on the progress and results of budget revenue collection in the province and future tasks and solutions; and from the Department of Finance on the progress and results of land use fee collection in the province and future tasks and solutions.

Comrade Nguyen Quang Hung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for State Budget Revenue Collection, chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Generating Revenue from Land to Serve the Socio -Economic Development of the Province in the 2021-2025 period; and leaders from several departments, agencies, and districts and cities.

Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for generating revenue from land to serve the socio-economic development of the province in the 2021-2025 period, spoke at the meeting.

By the end of the first quarter of 2024, total domestic revenue reached nearly VND 1,900 billion, achieving 22.1% of the projected target, an increase of 2.9% compared to the same period in 2023. Of this, revenue from land use fees reached over VND 520 billion, achieving 14% of the projected target, equivalent to 84.4% compared to the same period in 2023; revenue from taxes and fees after deducting land use fees reached nearly VND 1,380 billion, achieving 28.4% of the projected target, an increase of 12.2% compared to the same period in 2023.

At the meeting, delegates focused on analyzing and clarifying the difficulties in collecting state budget revenue and land use fees; based on that, they proposed solutions for collection in the second quarter and subsequent quarters.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for generating revenue from land to serve the socio-economic development of the province in the 2021-2025 period, requested that districts and cities proactively develop plans for auctioning land use rights to implement immediately upon the issuance of regulations supplementing some contents of the Land Price Table for the 2020-2024 period in the province; focus on land clearance work for land areas as a basis for implementing land use right auctions; develop critical path plans for each land area, regularly urge specialized agencies and units, and absolutely avoid complacency in order to complete the assigned land use fee collection targets.

In his concluding remarks, Comrade Nguyen Quang Hung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for State Budget Revenue Collection, highly appreciated the efforts of the departments, agencies, and localities in implementing state budget revenue collection. He also requested that members of the Provincial Steering Committee for State Budget Revenue Collection, the Steering Committee for Generating Revenue from Land to Serve the Socio-Economic Development of the Province in the 2021-2025 period, and the districts and cities pay attention, focus, and assign specific personnel to decisively implement solutions to strive to exceed the state budget revenue targets for taxes, fees, and land use fees. The Director of the Provincial Tax Department and the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the districts and cities are responsible to the Provincial People's Committee for the 2024 state budget revenue collection results.

Regarding the Provincial Tax Department, the comrade requested that they continue to closely monitor the plans and developments of businesses to promptly urge payment and prevent tax arrears from accumulating; develop specific solutions for tax debt collection; strengthen administrative procedure reforms in taxation, focusing on public awareness campaigns, especially regarding mechanisms and policies supporting taxpayers; and urge organizations and individuals who won land use rights auctions to pay according to regulations.
