Striving for record import-export revenue

Along with Quang Ninh, the provincial Customs sector is entering 2024 with many difficulties and challenges such as global macroeconomic instability affecting import and export activities, global political and security fluctuations, and the world having just overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. However, with synchronized and decisive solutions in increasing revenue, combating revenue loss, and expanding and attracting many new import and export businesses to operate in the area, the Quang Ninh Customs sector is striving to achieve the highest budget revenue ever at 17,000 billion VND.

To achieve the set goals, the Quang Ninh Customs Department has directed its subordinate customs branches to proactively and comprehensively innovate support methods to attract businesses to participate in import and export activities in the area; maintain the effectiveness of business support teams; enhance interaction and support for businesses via email, phone, fanpage, etc.; and create the most favorable conditions for businesses to promote trade between the two sides of the border.

Thanks to these efforts, many new businesses have entered the import and export activities in the area, and many new products have been cleared through customs for the first time.

For example, recently, a shipment of bird's nests was declared for the first time at the Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch and exported to the Chinese market via the Bac Luan II Bridge customs clearance point. The shipment included ready-to-eat bird's nests in jars and refined bird's nests, declared for export to China by AVANEST Vietnam Nutrition Joint Stock Company at the Mong Cai Customs Branch. The partner was Dongxing Zhenpin Preferred Trading Co., Ltd (Dongxing - China). This activity marks the beginning of a successful cooperation between businesses of the two countries, expanding the official export market for Vietnamese bird's nests to this potential market.

The first shipment of bird's nests has been exported to China via the Bac Luan II Bridge - Mong Cai customs clearance point.

Previously, at the Bac Luan 2 Bridge Border Gate (Mong Cai), for the first time, a shipment of 2,430 packages containing 21,870 fresh coconuts, totaling 23.5 tons, was exported to China by Hai Ninh Import-Export Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Mong Cai, Quang Ninh) on behalf of Mekong Fruit Import-Export Co., Ltd. ( Ben Tre ). The importer of this shipment was Dongxing Huawang Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. (Dongxing, China). It is understood that the two companies will increase exports of this product to China through the Bac Luan 2 Bridge Border Gate, with the expected volume reaching more than 10 containers per day in the near future.

Through accelerated administrative reforms and the implementation of many comprehensive and decisive solutions to increase revenue, combat budget losses, and attract new businesses and import-export products, the Quang Ninh Provincial Customs Department has collected 15,800 billion VND in budget revenue from the beginning of 2024 to the present, an 8% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The Quang Ninh Customs sector is making great efforts and demonstrating high determination to successfully achieve the target of collecting 17,000 billion VND in import-export revenue for the whole year.

To achieve its revenue collection targets, the Quang Ninh Provincial Customs Department has directed its units and sub-departments to further improve administrative reform, retain businesses in the area; continue to promote support for businesses by providing and assisting them with what they need; proactively gather information and work alongside them to resolve difficulties for import and export businesses; and resolutely create a healthy and equitable business environment for the business community and attract businesses to conduct customs procedures through the province. The Quang Ninh Customs sector is also highly determined to effectively combat smuggling and trade fraud, maintaining the goal of preventing the emergence of smuggling hotspots in the area.
