Currently, the Ministry of Construction has proposed the Ministry of Finance to synthesize and report to competent authorities to arrange a medium-term public investment capital plan for the period 2026-20302 to invest in renovating and upgrading works in the airport area (runways, taxiways, etc.) at a number of airports, including Pleiku Airport, however, to date, it has not been approved by competent authorities.
In case Gia Lai province needs early investment, Gia Lai People's Committee is requested to study and proactively arrange local budget capital to invest in upgrading the project.
For the civil aviation area (terminal, parking lot...), Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) is the Pleiku Airport enterprise responsible for investing and expanding the airport according to the plan.

Therefore, the Ministry of Construction requests the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee to work with ACV to study suitable investment options. In case ACV cannot balance its capital sources, Gia Lai province will proactively study options to mobilize social capital to invest in and develop Pleiku Airport, report to the Prime Minister to be assigned as the competent authority to implement the project, and the Ministry will closely coordinate with the locality during the implementation process.
Pleiku Airport was built in 1960 and used as a military base airport. After 1975, Pleiku Airport was the base of the Vietnam Air Force. Since 1992, Civil Aviation has started to put Pleiku Airport into operation.
Currently, Pleiku Airport is operating medium-range aircraft such as A320 and A321 with domestic flights to major political and cultural centers of the country.
Pleiku Airport Passenger Terminal has a total usable area of 3,174.53m2, including 2 floors, 2 aircraft exits, serving 300 passengers/peak hour, with the capacity to serve 600,000 passengers/year.
