On March 10th, in Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province, the Provincial Steering Committee for the Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses held a ceremony to launch the intensive campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses throughout the province.

Attending the launching ceremony were Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses; Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee; Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Dung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; along with leaders of various departments, agencies, associations, and leaders of the 9 mountainous districts of Quang Nam province.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province, said that after the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued Directive No. 25 on March 31, 2022, on strengthening the Party's leadership in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, with "high determination, great efforts, practical and effective actions," to date, more than 5,600 houses in Quang Nam province have been newly built or renovated.

Over the past period, units of the armed forces, union members, association members, and young people have joined hands, contributing tens of thousands of man-days of labor, demonstrating responsibility and the moral principle of gratitude and reciprocity, "loving others as oneself," contributing to bringing homes of love to people affected by natural disasters, fires, and climate change;…

At the launching ceremony, the Steering Committee for the Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Quang Nam Province called on all levels and sectors to be more decisive, specific, and responsible in order to achieve the set goals. This includes effectively integrating resources, especially national target programs, and continuing to thoroughly review the entire area with the "three no's" requirement (no incorrect target groups, no overlooked target groups, and no complaints or petitions).

The Provincial Steering Committee assigned the armed forces and the Provincial Youth Union to provide manpower support for the demolition of 166 houses in the districts of Nam Tra My, Bac Tra My, Phuoc Son, Tay Giang, and Dong Giang. In addition to the allocated funds, some units also mobilized additional resources. Specifically, the Provincial Youth Union mobilized an additional 50 tons of cement and 50,000 bricks. The Provincial Police mobilized over 5 billion VND.

On this occasion, the Provincial Steering Committee for the Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses awarded 60 million VND each to Mr. Vo Ngoc Minh and Mr. Dinh Van Lanh from Bac Tra My district to support the construction of new houses. In addition, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Police Department, two units assigned by the Provincial Steering Committee to provide manpower for house construction, also mobilized additional resources and support to help the two families build more decent homes.
