More motivation to strive for success in life.

The program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province over the years has helped many disadvantaged families stabilize their lives. Especially for those children of resistance fighters who were exposed to chemical toxins, this support not only means a new roof over their heads, but also a sharing and encouragement to give them more confidence to overcome difficulties in life.

In early May, the atmosphere in Hamlet 3, Tan Linh Commune, became more bustling with the sounds of concrete mixers and people transporting construction materials. Amidst this hustle and bustle, Mr. Hoang Van Tinh looked at his house under construction with a look of deep emotion.

For his family, it was not just a place to shelter from the rain and sun, but also a beacon of hope for a stable life after many years of hardship and deprivation.

Mr. Tinh is the son of a resistance fighter who was exposed to chemical toxins. He himself suffers from the aftereffects of his father's exposure, including hearing impairment, poor health, and a lack of stable employment.

For many years, the father and his two sons lived in a severely dilapidated house, living in constant anxiety every rainy season due to safety concerns.

With a grant of 60 million VND from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for children of resistance fighters affected by chemical toxins, his family built a 60 m² single-story house. In addition, relatives and neighbors contributed labor and resources to help the family complete their new home as soon as possible.

Mr. Trieu Van Huan, Vice Chairman of the Tan Linh Commune People's Committee, said: "Sharing the difficulties with the family, the local government has called for social contributions to help the family with an additional 5 tons of cement, and mobilized more than 100 man-days to transport materials and dig the foundation for the house. We also requested schools in the area to provide the best possible support so that Mr. Tinh's two children can study with peace of mind."

The joy of having a new home is also present for the family of Mr. Luong Tuan Hoa in Da Chong village, Yen Binh commune.

Mr. Hoa's father was exposed to chemical toxins, and he himself suffers from a serious illness, his health has deteriorated, and he is no longer able to work. For many years, he and his wife have had to live with relatives, their lives depending on the meager income of their family.

With a grant of 60 million VND to build a house, along with help from the local authorities and villagers, his family's 70-square-meter, single-story house is gradually being completed.

The family of Mr. Luong Tuan Hoa (wearing a black shirt) in Da Chong village, Yen Binh commune, has a father who was exposed to chemical toxins, and Mr. Hoa himself suffers from a serious illness, his health has deteriorated, and he is no longer able to work.

Over the past few days, in addition to construction workers, many organizations and villagers have come to help dig the foundation, transport materials, and clear the site to help the family reduce costs.

Mr. Hoa said emotionally: "Without the support of the government and the community, my family would never have imagined we would one day live in a sturdy house. This is the motivation for me to try to overcome my illness and stabilize my life with my wife and children."

Also in Da Chong village, the family of Mr. Dang Van Dam, born in 1964, is receiving assistance for house repairs. Having only escaped poverty two years ago, and being frail and unable to work, repairing their dilapidated house is beyond their means.

Thanks to support from the province, along with assistance from the local government and villagers, Mr. and Mrs. Dam's house is gradually being completed and becoming more spacious and comfortable.

Mr. Dam shared: "My wife and I are very happy to have this new house. With the care and support from the government and the community, we have more motivation to strive to improve our lives."

According to Mr. Hoang Hop, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Binh commune, for households facing extreme difficulties, illness, or disability and unable to build their own houses, the local authorities mobilize organizations, associations, and residents to provide labor support, helping these families complete their homes as soon as possible. At the same time, regular inspections and monitoring are conducted to ensure the quality of the construction and the progress of the project.

Implementing a program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for children of resistance fighters affected by chemical toxins, the entire province will support the construction and repair of 157 houses with a total budget of over 7.8 billion VND, including 104 new houses and 53 houses for repair. All houses will meet the "three solid" criteria: solid foundation, solid frame and walls, and solid roof, ensuring long-term stability for the residents. The support level for new houses is 60 million VND per household, and for house repairs is 30 million VND per household.

To ensure the program's effective implementation, localities have mobilized the entire political system. In addition to provincial funding, many localities have actively sought further social resources, enlisting the participation of the military, police, mass organizations, and the community to support households in building houses.

The houses, once completed, are guaranteed to meet the "three solid" criteria: solid foundation, solid frame, solid walls, and solid roof, ensuring long-term stability for the residents.

According to the plan, the construction and repair of houses for these cases will be completed before July 25th, in anticipation of the 65th anniversary of the Day for Victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2026) and the 79th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026).
