Overview of the conference.
Over 13 years of implementing the National Action Strategy on Gender Equality, the role and status of women in the province have undergone many positive changes, contributing to the achievement of the strategic goals and targets of national programs on gender equality and the prevention of gender-based violence. Currently, 52 out of 92 state management agencies and local governments at all levels in the province have key female leaders, reaching a rate of 56.52%. Of the total 18,503 people employed in the province, 9,627 are women, accounting for 52.02% of the workforce. The percentage of female workers receiving training reached 51.01% of the total trained workforce; and the health care of women and children has been given priority.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The Month of Action for Gender Equality is organized to attract attention, enhance the role, responsibility, and effectiveness of coordination among all levels and sectors from the province to the localities. Through this, it mobilizes the strength of the entire political system and the whole population to participate in implementing gender equality and preventing and responding to gender-based violence; empowering women and girls, ensuring social security for the goal of sustainable development.
Comrade Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a speech at the ceremony.
To effectively organize the Month of Action for Gender Equality, the comrade called for the joint efforts and contributions of all sectors, levels, social organizations, and the community, especially men and boys, to act together to eliminate gender inequality and end violence against women and girls; to promote the implementation of laws and policies, and to mobilize society on gender equality and the prevention and control of gender-based violence; and to encourage and call on everyone to speak out and act together to eliminate gender inequality and end violence against women and children.
Leaders of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee presented certificates of commendation to individuals who achieved outstanding results in implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality in the province in 2024.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 8 collectives and 6 individuals who have achieved outstanding results in implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality in Ninh Thuan province in 2024.
