- At exactly 6:00 a.m. on July 1, along with more than 18,000 pagodas and monasteries nationwide, at Thanh Pagoda (Luong Van Tri Ward), the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Lang Son Province rang the bell and the Prajna drum three times to pray for national peace and prosperity. At the same time, the ringing of the bell and the Prajna drum was also performed at Tan Thanh Pagoda (Hoang Van Thu Commune). The ringing of the bell and the drum was carried out according to the directive of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
Sharing about the meaning of this ritual, Venerable Thich Quang Truyen, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province, said: The bell and the Prajna drum have a special meaning in the spiritual life of Buddhism, especially Mahayana Buddhism. According to Buddhist beliefs, the sound of the bell can resonate far and wide throughout the entire Dharma realm. Practitioners send their prayers into the sound of the bell, bringing peace and happiness to everyone.
The activity attracted a large number of Buddhists and people to participate, all of whom expressed their trust and expectations in the new development stage of the province and the nation.
This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the first day of the operation of the 2-level local government model , demonstrating the fine tradition of Buddhism "protecting the country and the people", always accompanying the development of the nation. Through this ceremony, it aims to arouse the solidarity of all classes of people, firmly entering the era of national development.
