On May 29th, a delegation of Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front leaders, led by Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Member of the Political Bureau and Chairman of the National Assembly, visited Hue Nghiem Pagoda (An Khanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) to pay respects to the Venerable Thich Tri Quang, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and the Council of Buddhist Elders on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2570.
The delegation included Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Political Bureau , Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The delegation was received by the Venerable Thich Tri Quang, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Association.
Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man extended wishes for peace and unity to the venerable monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers of the Vietnam Buddhist Association. The Chairman emphasized that throughout the nation's history, Vietnamese Buddhism has always been a companion to the nation, closely connected with the people in the spirit of protecting the Dharma and ensuring peace for the people, with the Dharma accompanying the nation. This is a fine tradition preserved through many generations.

According to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Buddhist representatives have participated in many terms of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels. In particular, the 16th National Assembly term and the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will continue to have Buddhist representatives participating in elected activities.
Mr. Tran Thanh Man stated that the National Assembly and the Government, under the leadership of the Party, have always paid attention to religious affairs. Recently, the National Assembly enacted the amended Law on Beliefs and Religions, which will take effect from January 1, 2027. Along with the implementation of the Land Law, the Education Law, and the Cultural Heritage Law, these are important guidelines for the activities of religions, including Buddhism.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the Church is an important part of the national unity bloc. Over the years, the Church has made many contributions to implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations; contributing to the socio-economic development of the country; and actively participating in charitable movements, national unity, education, healthcare, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and disaster prevention and control.
"The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at all levels has participated very actively. The Party and the State always acknowledge and highly appreciate the contributions of the Sangha to the cause of building and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
The Speaker of the National Assembly also particularly appreciated the contributions of the Supreme Patriarch and other venerable religious leaders to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The Chairman of the National Assembly expressed his hope that in the coming time, with the prestige of the Venerable Thich Tri Quang and other venerable monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, they will continue to lead and guide the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, contributing to the country's development in the new era.
On the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday celebration in the Buddhist calendar year 2570, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent his best wishes to the Venerable Grand Master and all esteemed monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, wishing them much joy, peace, and success in organizing the Buddha's Birthday celebration in 2026 as well as the upcoming 10th National Buddhist Congress.
In response at the meeting, the Venerable Thich Tri Quang, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, expressed his joy that on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday, the Chairman of the National Assembly, representing the Party and State, visited and showed kind sentiments towards Vietnamese Buddhism.
The venerable monk said that it reminded him of the journey since the country's reunification. Under the care of the Party, the State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha was officially established. Over 45 years of building and development, Vietnamese Buddhism has had many opportunities to contribute to the nation-building and national development.
"It is the greatest honor for Buddhism to be able to contribute to the country and the nation," the venerable monk emphasized.

A delegation of leaders from the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front visited and offered congratulations on Buddha's Birthday to the Venerable Thich Thien Nhon.
Following the National Assembly Chairman's recognition and appreciation of the contributions of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the venerable senior monk stated that he would convey those sentiments to monks, nuns, and Buddhists nationwide. He also expressed his hope that in the future, Vietnamese Buddhism will continue to contribute even more to the building and development of the country.
Concluding his speech, the Venerable Thich Tri Quang extended his greetings and best wishes for good health to General Secretary and President To Lam and other Party and State leaders; and expressed his hope that the country would continue to develop well and the nation would prosper even more.
On the same day, a delegation of leaders from the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front also visited Quang Duc Zen Monastery (Xuan Hoa Ward) to offer congratulations on Buddha's Birthday to the Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Vice Dharma Chief and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Association.
