Promoting people's power in fighting against counterfeit goods and trade fraud

On the afternoon of June 23, concluding the national online conference to review the work in the first 6 months of 2025 and summarize the peak period of the fight to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and commended the efforts and results of the National Steering Committee 389 and the steering committees of ministries, branches, and localities in the first 6 months of the year and the past peak month. The Prime Minister said that these positive results were achieved thanks to the close leadership and direction of the Party, State, and Government and the drastic participation of functional agencies.

Forecasting that the situation in the coming time will continue to be complicated, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to focus, resolutely fight, declare war, and be uncompromising against the crimes of producing, circulating and trading fake drugs and fake food. Because these are two groups and fields directly related to the health and lives of the people. The functional branches must increase their mobilization, without stopping with the spirit of "working day and night, working extra on days off". At the same time, taking the people as the main subject, mobilizing the strength of the people and businesses; launching a movement where each person is both a fighter and a smart consumer in the market.

The Prime Minister requested ministries and branches, according to their functions and tasks, to urgently complete and submit to competent authorities to issue new or amend and supplement legal documents related to the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights, creating a solid legal corridor to improve the effectiveness of this work. Strengthen inspection, supervision, and post-inspection to promptly detect and strictly handle violations; closely monitor stores and shops with signs of violations detected in the past. Functional forces promote digital transformation, apply information technology; strengthen connections, share, and provide information; deploy and improve the effectiveness of hotlines, ensuring timely collection and handling of reports from people.
