Promoting the role of party members in building new rural areas

Over the years, cadres and party members of Yen Mo commune have promoted their pioneering and exemplary roles, becoming the nucleus of solidarity, leading the new rural construction movement, contributing to increasingly improving the appearance of the countryside, and constantly improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

Cadres, party members and people of village 4 joined hands to build a spacious and solid village cultural house.

These days, coming to village 4, Yen Mo commune, everyone can feel the fresh, new air of the model village. The concrete road runs between rows of areca nuts and colorful flowers, the lighting extends to the end of the alley, somewhere people are sweeping and taking care of each flower pot and lawn. That appearance is thanks to the spirit of solidarity and the pioneering and exemplary role of the Party members in the Party cell of village 4, one of the Party cells that actively and effectively participates in the movement to build new rural areas of the commune.

Party member Bui Thi Nhuong (55-year Party member) shared: “We Party members always voluntarily contribute more than the masses. To build a cultural house, each person contributes 300,000 VND, and Party members voluntarily contribute 500,000 VND or more; to build an electric line, my Party cell members contribute 1 million VND per person, and we also encourage our children and siblings to participate. Every month, we organize tree trimming and clean village roads. Everyone is excited because our village is becoming more and more spacious and beautiful.”

Comrade Nguyen Thi Hue, Secretary of the Village Party Cell, said: “The Village Party Cell 4 currently has 35 party members, many of whom are elderly but still maintain a sense of responsibility and are always shining examples in all movements. All party members are exemplary pioneers, united, and actively participate in new rural construction activities. Thanks to that pioneering spirit, in the process of building a model new rural area, the village has mobilized nearly 300 million VND in cash and hundreds of working days, completing the criteria for a model new rural area by 2022.”

In the process of building new rural areas, the criteria of traffic and cultural houses are difficult criteria, with large costs, requiring consensus and high determination of the collective. Realizing that, cadres and party members in the commune have actively participated in the movement of site clearance, donated land for road construction, and provided material and working days to implement the criteria quickly and effectively. From there, creating a premise for the masses to trust, follow, and multiply the combined strength of the entire population.

Traffic routes in the commune are invested to be spacious, clean and beautiful.

Thanks to that, up to now, in the commune, the basic roads have been concreted, hardened, signs installed, flowers planted to create landscape; the internal traffic routes have been invested and solidified, creating convenience for people to travel and produce. 100% of villages, hamlets, and residential groups have spacious, clean cultural houses, equipped with equipment such as tables, chairs, televisions, bookcases, gymnastic and sports equipment, etc. Thereby improving the material and spiritual life of local people. Currently, in the commune, there are 4 Cheo and Xam singing clubs; 66 art and folk dance teams; 16 volleyball clubs, 2 badminton clubs that are being maintained and operating effectively.

One of the typical movements that attracted a large number of Yen Mo commune party members to participate is local economic development. Many party members have shown a pioneering spirit, boldly innovated their thinking, proactively built effective and sustainable production models, bringing high economic value. Currently, the whole commune has 123 small and medium-sized enterprises operating in various industries such as garment, construction, transportation, construction material supply... Among them, many party members play the role of business owners, making an important contribution to local economic development. Many people have boldly bid to convert ineffective cultivated land to grow crops and raise specialty animals such as fish, snails, frogs, celery, water spinach...

Comrade La Anh Duong, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of the Yen Thuong Handicraft Production Village Cooperative, Hamlet 4, Yen Mo Commune said: “As a Party member, I always determine to be exemplary, take the lead in economic development, and create jobs for local people. Based on the existing potential of the traditional craft village, I and the members established a Cooperative specializing in producing products such as baskets, decorations, chairs... made from natural, environmentally friendly materials such as duckweed, sedge, and straw”.

Yen Thuong handicraft production village cooperative creates stable jobs for hundreds of local workers.

Currently, the cooperative supplies the market with 2,000 to 3,000 products each month, with a revenue of about 200 million VND; creating jobs for many workers with stable income. The good news is that the products have been exported to many demanding markets such as Europe, the US, Japan, Korea, and China.

According to comrade Trinh Van Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Yen Mo Commune Party Committee: Yen Mo Commune was established on the basis of merging Yen Thinh Town, Khanh Duong Commune, and Yen Hoa Commune. After the merger, the Commune Party Committee has 93 Party Committees and Party cells with 2,413 Party members. Over the past time, the team of cadres and Party members of the commune has always promoted the pioneering and exemplary role in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; at the same time, it is the core force, actively contributing to the new rural construction movements in the area, creating a widespread influence in the community.

According to annual assessments, over 80% of the commune's party members have completed their tasks well, of which 13% to 20% have completed their tasks excellently. The 2020-2025 period recorded many outstanding results: Yen Thinh town was recognized as meeting the standards of a type V urban area, a civilized urban area; Khanh Duong commune achieved the status of an advanced new rural commune; Yen Hoa commune achieved the standards of a model new rural area; 15 villages and hamlets were recognized as model new rural residential areas.
