Developing modern livestock farming.

Despite being an industrial province, with an agricultural production value of approximately 95 trillion VND, Dong Nai province is among the leading provinces nationwide in agricultural development. In particular, livestock farming continues to assert its leading role, with the largest scale of livestock and poultry herds in the country.

In particular, the High-Tech Livestock Production and Agricultural Processing Project in Thuan Loi Commune is expected to become a driving force for in-depth restructuring of the agricultural sector; forming a large-scale high-tech agricultural zone integrating livestock farming, crop cultivation, and processing in a closed value chain; contributing to the modernization of agriculture associated with green and sustainable economic development.

Many advantages in attracting investment

Following the merger, Dong Nai province continues to be the livestock capital of the country, with the highest total livestock production. Specifically, the total pig population in the province currently reaches nearly 4 million; the total poultry population reaches nearly 33.3 million.

With these advantages, Dong Nai has attracted many corporations and businesses to invest in the livestock industry from a very early stage, following a closed-loop chain from animal feed production; production and trading of livestock breeds, veterinary medicine, and deep processing of livestock products… The livestock industry has applied modern technology, shifting production towards large-scale industrial and commercial production in a closed-loop chain from input to output.

For businesses interested in and seeking investment opportunities in Dong Nai, we will always accompany and support them within the framework of the law; creating a transparent and stable investment environment so that projects can quickly become operational, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality. Dong Nai province always welcomes investors who share the aspiration to build a modern, efficient, and highly competitive agricultural sector.

The province's livestock industry is also among the top in the country in applying new technical advancements in production. To date, cold-storage farming accounts for approximately 35% of the total pig and chicken herds, with automatic feeding and watering systems; 100% of large-scale livestock farms have waste treatment systems; 98% of the total pig herd uses new breeds and 90% of the chicken herd uses new breeds. Good livestock farming practices and the use of vaccines to prevent diseases in livestock are widely applied. The entire province has 202 farms and 3 cooperatives certified VietGAHP/GlobalGAP.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, stated: For the period 2026-2030, Dong Nai province aims for a growth rate of 4-5% per year in the value of livestock production. By 2030, the province aims to develop a pig herd of approximately 5 million, a poultry flock of 48 million, a meat production of 1.3 million tons, and an egg production of 2 billion eggs. The livestock industry still has significant potential for development, especially in the application of science and technology in a closed-loop system with high added value.

Making a technological breakthrough

Thuan Loi commune has a favorable geographical location and natural conditions for developing livestock farming and crop cultivation. However, currently, the scale of production in the commune is still scattered and small-scale. The entire commune currently has only 12 small and medium-sized livestock farms along with 87 small-scale livestock farming households.

The high-tech livestock production and agricultural processing project, with a preliminary investment of approximately 30.5 trillion VND, will be implemented in Thuan Loi commune. The project includes: a high-tech livestock farming area covering 410 hectares; a high-tech feed production and processing area and a closed-loop agricultural product processing area covering 76 hectares; an area for growing fruit trees and medicinal plants covering 600 hectares; and a comprehensive technical infrastructure system covering 80 hectares.

In particular, the high-tech concentrated livestock farming area will be implemented using a model of raising pigs in multi-story buildings, applying artificial intelligence to manage diseases, optimize farming processes, and control environmental pollution. This will be a closed-loop, circular ecosystem from farm to table, creating distinctive values and ensuring transparency regarding the origin and quality of products.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Vice Chairman of Thuan Loi Commune People's Committee, said: "The project on concentrated livestock production and agricultural product processing using high technology is of special importance, in line with the Party, State, and province's policies and directions on developing modern, sustainable agriculture and strongly applying scientific and technological advancements to production. When implemented, the project will contribute to improving land use efficiency, forming a closed production chain, strengthening disease control, protecting the environment, and moving towards a green, modern agricultural model and developing in the direction of a circular economy. Through this, it will create momentum to promote the socio-economic development of the locality, attract investment, create jobs, and improve the income and living standards of the people in the commune." The project will also promote investment in the development of technical infrastructure, production infrastructure, and social infrastructure, gradually shaping a new architectural appearance and development space for Thuan Loi commune, linking economic development with planning management, environmental protection, and sustainable development goals.

According to Nguyen Kim Long, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the formation of high-tech agricultural zones, concentrated agricultural production linked to processing and markets is an inevitable direction and a path the province is persistently pursuing. The launch of the High-Tech Concentrated Livestock, Production, and Agricultural Processing Project in Thuan Loi commune is a concrete step to realize this direction. The project not only contributes to the in-depth restructuring of the agricultural sector but also aims to build a modern, closed-loop, circular production model – from breeding, livestock farming, cultivation, processing to consumption and export.
