Industry is identified as one of the three economic pillars of Binh Thuan and the locality is focusing on effectively exploiting its potentials, advantages as well as development orientations in line with the trend of the times.

Industrial production activities in Binh Thuan continued to grow last year with the industrial production index (IIP) increasing by nearly 11% over the same period, while the proportion of industry in GRDP reached more than 31%. In the first 4 months of 2025 alone, local industrial production remained stable and had many positive changes, especially the province's manufacturing and processing industry still played a "locomotive" role with an increase of more than 12%. In addition to effectively exploiting the potentials and advantages of the locality, Binh Thuan is also considering industrial development in line with the trend of the times, especially prioritizing the development of high-tech fields. Recently, the Provincial People's Committee issued a Plan to implement the Strategy for developing Vietnam's semiconductor industry to 2030 and vision to 2050 in Binh Thuan. Accordingly, the goal is to develop the semiconductor industry with the core being the High-Tech Park associated with innovation and creativity with enough capacity to participate in high value-added stages in the value chain of the Vietnamese semiconductor industry. By 2050, Binh Thuan strives to have an autonomous semiconductor industrial ecosystem with the High-Tech Park becoming a center for training, research, application and development of the province's semiconductor industry.

Based on the actual situation and conditions, up to now, Binh Thuan has established 9 industrial parks (IPs) including: Phan Thiet IP Phase 1, Phan Thiet IP Phase 2, Ham Kiem I IP, Ham Kiem II IP, Song Binh IP, Tuy Phong IP, Tan Duc IP, Son My 1 IP and Son My 2 IP - Phase 1. In addition, the whole province also has dozens of industrial clusters formed and distributed throughout 10 districts, towns, and cities... Regarding the High-Tech Park, in 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision approving the Outline and budget estimate of the Project to establish the High-Tech Park of Binh Thuan province. Currently, the Department of Science and Technology is presiding over and coordinating with relevant agencies and units to promote the development of the Project to establish the High-Tech Park in Binh Thuan.

It is known that although the infrastructure of transportation, electricity - water, telecommunications ... is ready to meet and create favorable conditions for semiconductor and electronics enterprises to operate, up to now, the locality has not attracted projects operating in this field. Therefore, in the coming time, Binh Thuan will focus on perfecting mechanisms and preferential investment policies for the development of the province's semiconductor industry. Along with that, selectively attracting investment in the High-Tech Park, innovation zone and other industrial parks in the province for the semiconductor industry. In which, priority is given to attracting investment for semiconductor design enterprises, specialized chip manufacturing enterprises ... Thereby aiming to form a training center, research and development as well as forming a business incubator, developing the startup ecosystem of the province's semiconductor industry.

With industrial promotion activities in the new period, the locality also proposed to strengthen digital transformation through supporting the application of advanced technology and digital technology solutions. Specifically: Supporting the construction of a database of rural industrial enterprises; Supporting enterprises to access and implement digital transformation in production and business; Supporting the application of artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) in the production process. Thereby contributing to changing the traditional management and production and business model to create new opportunities, products, revenue and value in industrial production - handicrafts... It can be said that the application of digital transformation in industrial promotion is an inevitable trend to improve the efficiency of management and operation, supporting enterprises to access new technology. At the same time, expanding the market to enhance competitiveness, saving costs, optimizing resources, improving the quality of industrial promotion services and increasing competitiveness in the digital economy .
