VTC NewsVTC News14/11/2023

On the afternoon of November 14th, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Y, Head of the Education and Training Department of Thuong Tin district ( Hanoi ), stated that upon receiving information about a 6th-grade female student at Tan Minh Secondary School being beaten by a group of classmates, the unit immediately went to the school to investigate.

"The Department of Education and Training has reminded and criticized the principal of Tan Minh Secondary School for the delay in reporting and providing information to ensure timely guidance and handling of the incident," Mr. Y shared.

Representatives from the Thuong Tin District Department of Education and Training also stated that the events unfolded relatively clearly, but dealing with the students who violated the rules is very difficult. The students involved are all underage, and their awareness and ability to take responsibility for their wrongdoings are not high. For now, Tan Minh Secondary School has immediately established a disciplinary committee and temporarily suspended the students who violated the rules for one week for monitoring and reprimand.

The department also requested that the school pay attention to, visit, encourage, and stabilize the mental state of the assaulted female student so that she can return to school as soon as possible.

At the same time, the Thuong Tin District Department of Education and Training advises schools in the area to strengthen propaganda and remind students to avoid unfortunate incidents related to school violence.

On November 12th, social media was abuzz with a video showing a female student being assaulted by a group of classmates on school grounds. In the clip, a female student is sitting in front of a classroom hallway surrounded by a group of classmates. Then, another female student appears and repeatedly kicks the assaulted student in the head.

The victim clutched her head, crying and repeatedly calling for help and her mother. However, the female student in the white shirt continued to assault her, kicking her in the head, stomping on her back, and even sweeping her head with a broom. Notably, many surrounding students witnessed the incident but appeared indifferent; some even cheered, encouraged, and taunted the victim.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Pon, Principal of Tan Minh Secondary School, the incident occurred on Friday afternoon, November 10th, after school hours.

After class ended, the students stayed behind to prepare for the class competition. By this time, the teachers and students from other classes had already left.

During their assigned duty shift, a conflict arose among the group of students, leading to violence. Initial investigations revealed that the assaulted girl is in sixth grade. The two girls who attacked her include one current student and the other who graduated last year.

After discovering the incident, the school and the family took the assaulted student to the hospital. Her health is now stable. Tan Minh Secondary School has cooperated with the police to investigate and clarify the matter.

The female student who was assaulted has now been discharged from the hospital, and the school is allowing her to rest at home so her family can monitor and encourage her. The student who assaulted her is also temporarily absent from school while the incident is investigated. As for the other female student from outside the school, she is not under the school's supervision and will be monitored and handled by the police and local authorities.
