Approval of the list of members of the National Committee for Children

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 1080/QD-TTg approving the list of members of the National Committee for Children.

As approved, the Chairman of the Committee is Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.

The Vice Chairmen of the Committee include: Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (Permanent Vice Chairman); Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training and Ms. Dao Hong Lan, Minister of Health.

* The National Committee for Children was established in June 2017.

The National Committee for Children is responsible for assisting the Government and the Prime Minister in researching, directing, coordinating, urging, and coordinating between ministries, branches, and localities to resolve issues related to children and implement children's rights; proposing directions and solutions to implement issues related to children and promoting the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

In addition, coordinate with agencies of the National Assembly, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations, social organizations, and socio-professional organizations in implementing children's rights and resolving children's issues.

At the same time, direct and urge ministries, branches and localities to report to the National Assembly on the results of implementing rights and tasks related to children; reports on the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child; perform other tasks as required by the Prime Minister and competent authorities.

The National Committee for Children operates on a part-time basis, promoting the personal responsibility of the head. The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is the standing body of the National Committee for Children, responsible for ensuring operating conditions and using its apparatus to organize the implementation of the Committee's tasks.
