Updating the progress of investment preparation for public investment projects in the 2021-2025 period, the Construction Investment Management Department ( Ministry of Transport ) stated that, as of early July 2024, 59 out of 60 projects had received approval in principle.
The Ministry of Transport is directing project owners to diligently prepare for investment in public investment projects during the 2021-2025 period (Illustrative image).
One project remains unapproved: the upgrading and renovation of three national highways (53, 62, and Nam Song Hau) in the Mekong Delta, using World Bank loan funds. It is expected that the project's policy will be approved in July 2024.
Regarding the approval of investment projects, 57 out of 59 projects have been approved.
Two projects that have not yet been approved are the project to renovate and upgrade the Quy Nhon channel for 50,000 DWT vessels and the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway project.
Regarding projects using funds from increased revenue and savings in the central government's recurrent expenditure in 2022, to date, 6 out of 6 projects have had their investment policies approved, and 5 out of 6 projects have had their investment projects approved.
One project remains: the upgrade of National Highway 24B through Quang Ngai .
"Based on the established plan, the Ministry of Transport has directed the project owners/project management boards to proactively coordinate closely with relevant ministries, sectors, localities and units, simultaneously implement procedures, and accelerate the approval of investment policies and project approvals to meet the required schedule."
Specifically, in July 2024, investment approval was completed for two projects: the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway; and the upgrading of National Highway 24B through Quang Ngai.
"In the third quarter of 2024, the investment approval for the project to renovate and upgrade the Quy Nhon channel for 50,000 DWT vessels will be completed," the Department of Construction Investment Management informed.
