The Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 136 on August 14, stating that the whole country will hold inauguration ceremonies and start construction of 250 projects at 80 locations at 9:00 a.m. on August 19, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. By sector, 59 projects in the transport infrastructure sector were inaugurated and started construction on August 19.
Typically, the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project across the Tien River, connecting Vinh Long and Dong Thap, will be put into operation from August 19 - 4 months ahead of schedule.
Rach Mieu 2 Bridge has a total investment of more than 6,800 billion VND, starting construction in March 2022. The project is nearly 18km long, of which 8km passes through Dong Thap province and about 10km passes through Vinh Long .
The project includes Rach Mieu 2 cable-stayed bridge, nearly 2km long, with the main cable-stayed bridge over 500m long, My Tho bridge 450m long and approach roads over 15km long, meeting level III delta standards.

On this August 19, 6 expressways with a total length of 208km will be opened to traffic, such as the Vung Ang - Bung and Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressways.
The Vung Ang - Bung Expressway is over 55 km long, starting construction in January 2023 with a total investment of over 12,540 billion VND. The starting point is at the intersection of Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province, connecting to the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway. The end point is at Bo Trach commune, Quang Tri province, connecting to the Bung - Van Ninh Expressway (opened to traffic in April) at the Phong Nha intersection.
Phase 1 of the Vung Anh - Bung Expressway has a scale of 4 lanes, no emergency lane, 17 m wide roadbed, designed speed of 80 - 90 km/h. The project is invested by Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction).
The Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway was started in January 2023, invested by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, with a total capital of nearly VND 9,920 billion. The 65.5km long expressway starts from Van Ninh commune, connects with the Bung - Van Ninh expressway at the intersection of National Highway 9B and the completed overpass.
Phase 1 of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway includes 4 lanes, allowing for a maximum speed of 60 - 90 km/h. When completed, this expressway will be expanded to 6 lanes, with 2 emergency lanes, and a design speed of 100 km/h.

In addition to the two expressways mentioned above, on August 19, there are 4 other expressways that will complete the main route, such as: the remaining 13km of the expressway project from Van Phong to Nha Trang; some sections of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway (10/88km); Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon (45/70km); Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh (20/62km) and the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway.
On the same day, August 19, the Ministry of Construction will start construction of a number of key transport infrastructure projects such as the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway, over 60 km long, passing through Dong Nai province, with a total investment of nearly VND8,500 billion under the BOT form; starting construction of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway investment project phase 2; expanding the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway...
According to Construction Newspaper, in the fourth quarter of this year, there are 8 projects expected to start construction, including: Investment in completing Cu Mong tunnel; upgrading the road connecting Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway with Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway into an expressway in Hung Yen province and to the end of Thai Ha intersection; starting construction of Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway; expanding Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway; investment in completing Than Vu tunnel; investment in completing Nui Vung tunnel; construction of Ninh Cuong bridge over Ninh Co river on National Highway 37B and expansion of Cam Lo - La Son expressway section.
