The auction Magnificence and Regality: The Princely Collection of Nguyen Phuc Buu Loc will take place in Paris, France, on November 7. The event is conducted by Sotheby's.
Prince Nguyen Phuc Buu Loc (1914-1990) was the fifth-generation grandson of King Minh Mang (1791-1841). Prince Nguyen Phuc Buu Loc's art collection includes many silk paintings by famous Vietnamese artists such as Le Pho, Vu Cao Dam, and Nguyen Tuong Lan.
During his lifetime, Mr. Buu Loc had close friendships with many famous painters of Vietnamese fine arts. He built up his own impressive art collection. Currently, Mr. Buu Loc's son, who has both Vietnamese and French blood - Jean-François Nguyen - is the one who decided to sell this art collection.
