This afternoon, April 18, in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City Television in collaboration with Media 21 (M21) held a ceremony to announce the documentary film Vietnam War : National Interests .
The film has a total duration of 90 minutes, divided into 3 episodes, built from hundreds of thousands of pages of declassified documents from the CIA, the US State Department and Vietnamese archives. In addition, the film crew also conducted thousands of hours of interviews with policy makers, generals, scholars researching the Vietnam War in the US, Russia, China and Vietnamese revolutionaries directly involved in the war.
According to the assessment of researchers, political and historical commentators, the film Vietnam War: National Interest is the first documentary film with a new approach to an old topic. The film aims to analyze and clarify important decisions of Vietnam in the context of the Cold War, especially in the complex context between Vietnam and two countries considered to be major allies such as the US and the Soviet Union.
In this film, the filmmakers affirm that its consistent nature is a struggle for national liberation. But to achieve this goal, Vietnam not only dared to fight and defeat the US, but also had to overcome itself and the considerable obstacles from so-called allies such as the Soviet Union and China.
The film will be broadcast at 9:00 p.m. from April 24 to 26 on HTV9 channel, Ho Chi Minh City Television.
On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City Television, the Military Radio and Television Center and M21 signed a cooperation agreement to coordinate the implementation of high-quality media projects, contributing to the cause of national construction and defense.
