On the evening of May 23rd, the film "Phi Phong: Blood Demon of the Sacred Forest" officially reached the 200 billion VND mark in revenue, starting from early screenings on April 15th. The film also recorded approximately 2.5 million viewers at the theaters.
With this achievement, "Phi Phong: Blood Demon of the Sacred Forest" is currently the second highest-grossing Vietnamese film of 2026, after Tran Thanh's "Tho Oi" - which grossed 449.8 billion VND.
The film also surpassed the revenue of "Em chưa 18" (I'm Not Yet 18) to enter the top 15 highest-grossing Vietnamese films of all time. This is also the highest-grossing film in Kieu Minh Tuan's career. Previously, "Em chưa 18" held the record for the actor's highest-grossing film with 172 billion VND in 2017.
Even in its sixth week of release, the film continues to maintain its position among the top-grossing films daily. One factor believed to have helped expand the film's audience is its T16 rating – intended for viewers 16 years and older – instead of the more common T18 rating for horror films.
Furthermore, the film was released early, before the peak period of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and April 30th. According to the production team, the film reached the 100 billion VND mark after 6.5 days of screening.
“Phí Phông: The Blood Demon of the Sacred Forest” explores a story inspired by the legend of bloodthirsty demons in the high mountains, starring Kiều Minh Tuấn, Hạnh Thúy, Diệp Bảo Ngọc, Lan Phương, and Thai child actress Nina Nutthacha Padovan.
