Vietnamese film warns against scam tactics.

(PLVN) - "Blood Paradise" and "Trang An Firewall," despite their different formats—one a film, the other a long-running television series—both sound the alarm about the deceptive tactics of "easy jobs, high salaries," "border paradises," and online scams that cause tragedies for many individuals and families.

"Bloody Paradise" serves as a warning against "easy work, high pay."

The film "Blood Paradise," with professional support and input from the People's Police Film Studio on legal aspects, immediately drew attention with its title. Two seemingly opposing concepts are juxtaposed, creating a haunting paradox. "Paradise" evokes a vision of wealth, a better life, and unlimited opportunities; while "blood" symbolizes loss, pain, and retribution. The film not only tells a dramatic story but also presents a clear metaphor for the "virtual paradises" that exist when people are tricked into going abroad, forced to work online, where enticing offers of "easy work, high pay," and quick profits are set within sophisticated traps.

Drawing inspiration from the plight of Vietnamese people seeking work at the border, being taken to isolated areas, subjected to confinement, beaten, and tortured into defrauding fellow countrymen through social media and transferring money to organizations, director Hoang Tuan Cuong, in "Blood Paradise," explores the tragedy of those deceived abroad by advertisements promising "easy work and high pay."

Director Hoang Tuan Cuong depicts a series of tactics used by criminal groups to coerce victims into complying with their demands. In a suffocating, heavily guarded environment surrounded by barbed wire fences, dozens of people are on duty day and night at computers. They impersonate electricity company employees reporting "unpaid electricity bills," or bank representatives claiming "accounts have been temporarily frozen due to unusual transactions." The film closely follows sophisticated scam methods, such as using AI to mimic voices and faces, thereby gaining the trust of their "prey."

The online world in "Blood Paradise" is depicted as a labyrinth where identities are concealed, truths are distorted, and trust is exploited to the fullest. Through this, the film conveys a message: the line between opportunity and trap is thinner than ever. The film doesn't focus on the brutality of torture but rather on a positive message, emphasizing the value of family bonds.

"Trang An Firewall" exposes high-tech crime tactics.

The multi-episode crime drama "Trang An Firewall," a collaboration between Hanoi Television and the Hanoi City Police, starring actor Doan Quoc Dam, has become a phenomenon on television.

As a television series that raises awareness about high-tech crime, "Trang An Firewall" depicts the battle of wits between law enforcement and online fraud rings, from virtual investment platforms and fraudulent financial schemes to sophisticated psychological manipulation tactics. The series is based on real cases cracked by the Hanoi City Police in late 2024, offering a highly realistic and relatable perspective.

Unlike the concise cinematic rhythm of "Blood Paradise," "Trang An Firewall" has the advantage of a long-running series, delving into each case and each fraudulent scheme. Watching the film, viewers sometimes recognize situations on screen that resemble events that have happened to a relative or acquaintance.

Through the main characters—police officers and soldiers—the film "Trang An Firewall" vividly portrays the courage, intelligence, and sense of responsibility of police officers on the front lines of combating high-tech crime. Each case in cyberspace is a combination of science and technology, professional discipline, and a humane spirit, with the protection of citizens at its core.

"Blood Paradise" and "Trang An Firewall" reflect the spirit of the times, showcasing the transformation of Vietnamese cinema in taking on social roles. Cinema and television are no longer just telling stories detached from real life, but are venturing into pressing issues, contributing to raising public awareness.

In the digital age, where national borders, space, and time are increasingly blurred, online "paradises" can appear anywhere, anytime. "Bloody Paradise" and "Trang An Firewall," each in its own way, have contributed to exposing this dark side. When film becomes a soft yet powerful communication channel, its warning effect is sometimes even stronger than dry statistics or news reports. These two films also serve as a call to build a "firewall" through awareness, law, and community responsibility.
