Chairman of the Korean Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee Kim Seok-ki welcomed the visit to Korea by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation; stating that this is the first visit by the highest-ranking Vietnamese leader since the two countries upgraded their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership; believing that the visit will contribute to further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, contributing to concretizing the direction for developing bilateral relations under the new framework.
Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Le Thu Ha - General Secretary of the Friendship Parliamentarians' Organization (NSHN) was pleased to inform the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the Republic of Korea about the official activities of the Prime Minister with the participation of Vietnamese National Assembly delegates. In addition to the official meetings with senior leaders of the Republic of Korea, the delegation also attended Business Forums, Tourism Promotion and Cultural Cooperation Forum, Vietnam - Republic of Korea Labor Forum and 2 important seminars with leaders of Korean economic organizations and with Korean intellectuals and scientists in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
Along with that, the Delegation also attended meetings with representatives of leaders of some leading Korean economic groups investing in Vietnam...
The Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee emphasized that in the overall relationship between the two countries, cooperation between the two National Assemblies plays an important role, developing increasingly deeply, substantially and effectively, with the positive contributions of the National Assembly Leaders, the Foreign Affairs Committee and the NSHN Groups of the two countries. The two sides cooperate closely and support each other at multilateral inter-parliamentary forums such as the IPU, APPF, ASEP, MSEAP, contributing positively to maintaining peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.
“The two countries’ National Assemblies have maintained contact, exchanged high-level delegations, and interacted with parliamentarians and young parliamentarians, exchanged information and experience in their legislative roles and in deciding on important national issues, promoted the bridging role of the NSHN Groups, built a legal framework to concretize the content of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, and strengthened the supervisory role in implementing the agreements signed between the two sides,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Agreeing with the comments of the Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of Korea assessed that the Vietnam - Korea relationship has developed rapidly and substantially in many fields since the two sides upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with outstanding results.
That is, higher political trust, more prosperous trade cooperation, stronger increase in Korean investment in Vietnam, more expanded labor cooperation, stronger recovery in tourism cooperation, closer cooperation between localities, more progress in science and technology cooperation to respond to climate change, closer cooperation in regional and international issues, the two sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the two legislative bodies, support the two governments to promote bilateral cooperation.
The Chairman of the Korean Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee affirmed that the Korean National Assembly wishes and will closely cooperate with the Vietnamese National Assembly to support the two countries' governments in effectively and substantially implementing the Action Program to implement the new framework of relations and promoting cooperation in economic security and connecting human resources.
At the same time, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Vietnamese National Assembly is requested to continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for Korean enterprises to do business in Vietnam; the two sides agreed to promote the Government of each country in the work of protecting and supporting the overseas Vietnamese communities of the two countries to live stably in their home countries; promote cultural exchanges, tourism cooperation, exchanges between localities and people of the two countries, thereby enhancing understanding between the people of the two countries, creating a foundation for developing sustainable relations between the two countries.
At the meeting, the two sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern; agreed to coordinate and support each other at regional and international inter-parliamentary forums.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Committee Le Thu Ha conveyed the invitation of Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha to visit Vietnam soon to Chairman of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the National Assembly of Korea. Chairman of the Committee Kim Seok-ki happily accepted the invitation.
+ Also within the framework of the visit, Vice Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Le Thu Ha met with former Chairman and some members of the Korea - Vietnam NSHN Group Kim Hak Yong.
