On July 11, within the framework of her visit to France to attend the 50th General Assembly of the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF), Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh led a delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly to lay a flower basket at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Montreau Park.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh also visited the Ho Chi Minh Space in the campus of the Living History Museum of Montreuil city, visited the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Exhibition and Co Loa relic in Provins city, and met and worked with the mayor of this city.

Placing a flower basket in front of Uncle Ho's statue and visiting Ho Chi Minh Space in Montreuil city, Vice President Nguyen Thi Thanh expressed her emotion when visiting the place that preserves priceless documents and images about his life and revolutionary career during his time working in France.

She emphasized: "Ho Chi Minh space is not only a special cultural-historical site, but also a living source of inspiration for humanistic values, the spirit of independence and the aspiration for freedom that President Ho Chi Minh persistently pursued throughout his life."

The Vice President of the National Assembly affirmed that preserving and promoting these precious heritages is not only the responsibility of previous generations, but also a spiritual provision for the younger generation to better understand history, thereby nurturing patriotism and the will to rise up. Appreciating the special relationship between the city of Montreuil and Vietnam, she said that this place is considered one of the places that best preserves President Ho Chi Minh's heritage in France.

In his speech, Mr. Florian Vigneron - Deputy Mayor of Montreuil, quoted the poet Aimé Césaire: "A nation without memory is a nation without future," and affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh is "a great symbol of the struggle for independence and freedom, embodying the values of indomitable will, courage and hope." He emphasized that his legacy continues to inspire generations not only in Vietnam but around the world.

Montreuil's Living History Museum plays an important role in educating and raising public awareness about social movements through the ages. The Ho Chi Minh Space here is described as "the beating heart of Vietnamese love in France."

The highlight is the small room that recreates the living space of President Ho Chi Minh when he lived at 9 Compoint Alley, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, during the period 1921-1923. The space here is imbued with history and simplicity, deeply reflecting Uncle Ho's spiritual legacy. This room is considered a true cultural and historical heritage of the city, where history is told with the heart and conveys the message of the aspiration for peace and humanity.

Vice President Nguyen Thi Thanh expressed her sincere gratitude to the government and people of Montreuil for always having deep respect for Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh. She emphasized that the preservation and honor of these precious heritages is not only a vivid demonstration of the strong friendship between Vietnam and France, but also a bridge between the past and the future, between the two peoples and between generations.

Also on July 11, Vice President Nguyen Thi Thanh visited the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Exhibition and Co Loa relic site in Provins city, met and worked with the mayor of Provins city - Mr. Olivier Lavenka. She also expressed her hope that Provins will cooperate with other localities of Vietnam such as Ninh Binh and Hue in this field.

Over the past 30 years, this cooperative relationship has been continuously strengthened and developed strongly in many fields such as urban management, public transport, environment, conservation, promotion of heritage values, tourism development, and is considered a model of local-level cooperation between Vietnam and France.

Earlier, on the afternoon of July 10, Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh held talks with Vice President of the French National Assembly Nadège Abomangoli and worked with Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly Bruno Fuchs.

At the meeting, the Vice President of the National Assembly and Chairman of the French Foreign Affairs Committee highly appreciated and thanked Vietnam for sending a delegation of National Assembly leaders to attend the 50th General Assembly of the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF 50), affirming the good bilateral relationship and mutual support at multilateral organizations, including inter-parliamentary forums.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with France, expressing that with the strong determination of the two countries' senior leaders, and within the current Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework - the highest level of cooperation, the Vietnam-France relationship will increasingly develop, contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The Vice President emphasized that the cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries has been increasingly promoted and developed positively on the basis of the cooperation agreements signed between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Senate and the French National Assembly; the two sides regularly exchange delegations at all levels to share experiences in parliamentary activities, coordinate and support each other at multilateral parliamentary forums, actively contributing to strengthening bilateral relations and bringing Vietnam-France relations to new heights in recent times.

Sharing information and agreeing with the proposals of Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vice President of the French National Assembly Nadège Abomangoli said that the proposals were very "practical and specific," contributing to continuing to strengthen the exchange of delegations at high levels and at all levels through all channels of the Party, State, Government, and Parliament, maintaining the exchange of delegations between specialized committees and the Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, the Group of Female National Assembly Deputies, and the Group of Young National Assembly Deputies of the two countries to exchange experiences and improve the operational efficiency of the two countries' parliamentary agencies.

As Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly in charge of foreign relations and activities of the Friendship Parliamentary Groups, she pledged to continue promoting relations with France and Vietnam, highly appreciating and strongly supporting exchanges between the Friendship Parliamentary Groups of the two sides.

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Bruno Fuchs said that France's position in the trade and investment partnership in Vietnam is still very modest compared to the potential of the two sides, not commensurate with the good political relationship between the two countries.

On the basis of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, France needs to take more practical measures to promote relations with Vietnam, of which the recent State visit to Vietnam was an important milestone. At the same time, this year, it is expected that high-ranking French leaders will continue to visit Vietnam.

He highly appreciated Vietnam's role in the international arena, especially the fact that Vietnam has been a guest at many summits of the Group of Seven (G7) and the Group of Twenty (G20); as Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, he will actively coordinate so that the French Parliament can soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), and urge the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the "yellow card" on Vietnam in the field of seafood exploitation (IUU yellow card).

Ms. Nadège Abomangoli and Mr. Bruno Fuchs highly appreciated the Vietnamese Community in France for integrating and contributing to the socio-economic development of France and being a bridge for the friendship between the two countries. Welcoming the role and contribution of Vietnam in the Francophone Community and APF, Mr. Bruno Fuchs, who once held the position of Chief Representative of APF and attended the APF Executive Committee Conference in Can Tho, said that Vietnam organized the APF Executive Committee Conference with special care, respect, and maximum effectiveness in terms of content. France, the country that organized after Vietnam, needs to make great efforts to achieve the standards of organizing the Conference of Vietnam.
