According to the report at the working session, after implementing the arrangement according to the new administrative unit, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health has 05 specialized and professional departments and the Department Office; there are 02 branches under the Department. The basic public health service units are kept intact, only 04 units with the same functions and tasks are merged, including: Center for Disease Control, Center for Medical Examination, Center for Forensic Medicine and Center for Testing Drugs, Cosmetics, Food (each center maintains 02 facilities which are the facilities of the unit before the merger).
Currently, the province has 47 public health service units under the Department of Health, including: 04 general hospitals, 08 specialized hospitals, 04 specialized health centers, 03 specialized social protection centers and 28 multifunctional regional health centers. The total number of employees assigned to the service units under the Department is 8,794 people; the current number of employees is 6,922 people, lacking 1,872 people. The Department of Health is developing a plan to recruit civil servants to meet the human resource needs of the service units under its management.

Currently, the province has 135 Commune and Ward Health Stations with a total of 373 stations (maintaining the facilities of the Health Stations of the 2 provinces before the merger). The total number of employees assigned to the Commune and Ward Health Stations is 2,463 people.
At the meeting, Gia Lai province proposed a number of contents related to prioritizing vaccine allocation in the Expanded Immunization Program for remote, isolated, and ethnic minority areas of the province; requested the Ministry of Health to issue a circular providing specific guidance on the regime and policies for the rotation of 1,000 doctors each year to commune and ward health stations; proposed implementing a 70% preferential allowance regime for medical staff working in remote, isolated, and extremely difficult areas; and the issue of management and operation of SOS Children's Villages.;...
Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee spoke
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee thanked the Ministry of Health for its comments on the province's health sector activities. He affirmed that the province's viewpoint is to always proactively remove difficulties and obstacles within its authority to ensure the operation of medical facilities in the area. Regarding issues beyond its authority, he requested the Ministry of Health to continue to pay attention, provide direction and guidance to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the health sector, especially the state management of the health sector at the commune level.
Regarding the implementation of Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo , the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Ministry of Health to pay attention to investing in completing infrastructure and equipment; at the same time, have mechanisms and policies to attract and train human resources for the grassroots level, in order to meet the needs of medical examination and treatment and improve the quality of medical services for the people.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen acknowledged the results that Gia Lai province has achieved in rearranging and reorganizing the health sector according to the 2-level local government model. The Deputy Minister also suggested that the province should increase the application of information technology in the health sector. Regarding vaccine allocation, he requested that every July, Gia Lai province make a list of the number of children expected to give birth and the number of children in the age group that need to be vaccinated, and report to the Ministry of Health to promptly develop a vaccine allocation plan for the Expanded Immunization Program.
Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen said that, based on field surveys and direct work with Gia Lai province as well as other provinces and cities, the working group will synthesize reports and specifically evaluate health activities from the provincial to grassroots levels; this is also the basis for the Ministry of Health to advise the Government on building a National Target Program, in order to concretize the viewpoints and goals according to Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo, meeting the requirements of performing the tasks of the health sector in the new situation./.
