The 2025 Hanoi National University Aptitude Test (HSA) was held in 6 sessions, from March 15 to May 18, with 89,059 candidates taking the test.
Accordingly, the HSA exam score distribution in 2025 has an average score of 78.8/150; standard deviation is 14.3, median at 78.0/150.
The highest score in 2025 is 130/150; the lowest score is 31/150; the percentage of candidates achieving a score of 105/150 is about 3.94%; the score of 100/150 is 8.13%; the score of 90/150 is 23.7%; from 80/150 and above is 47.2%; from 75/150 is 60.2%.

Compared to 2024, the average score of the 2025 HSA exam increased by about 2.3 points (78.8 compared to 76.5) and the standard deviation increased slightly (14.3 compared to 13.3). This shows that the exam results in 2025 tend to increase slightly, up about 2-3 points compared to the same period last year.
One notable difference is that the lowest score in 2025 is significantly higher than in 2024 (31 vs. 17 points).
According to Hanoi National University, although the HSA exam scores in 2025 have slightly increased, the distribution is generally stable over the years - the median has remained around 76-78 points in the past 3 years, although the number of candidates taking the exam has increased by 15-25% each year.
"This stability affirms the quality and reliability of the HSA exam. The average score tends to increase slightly but still ensures high differentiation, which can predict that the admission score using the HSA exam will increase, especially in hot majors," said Hanoi National University.
This year, the Ministry of Education and Training requires the conversion of individual exam scores to a 30-point scale to unify admission methods and ensure fairness. However, Hanoi National University said the relationship between HSA exam scores and high school graduation exam scores is not linear 1-1 due to the different nature of the two exams.
Hanoi National University has proposed a method of conversion by percentile, the principle of which is guided by the Ministry of Education and Training. This method will use the test results data of candidates taking both the HSA and the high school graduation exam, helping to directly compare the results of the same group of people.
