The candidate with the highest score in the Hanoi National University's aptitude test (HSA) after four rounds of exams achieved 129/150 points, while the average score achieved by the candidates was 75.2.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of the Testing Center, Hanoi National University, said that 4 rounds of competency assessment exams were held with nearly 43,800 candidates taking the exam. The average score achieved by candidates was 75.2 on a 150-point scale. Compared to the same period last year, this score decreased by 2.4 points.

The number of candidates who scored 100 points or more accounted for 4.4%. Only 5 candidates scored 120 points or more. Among them, the candidate with the highest score was 129.

"The statistical results of the first rounds of exams provide important information for universities to determine the appropriate threshold to ensure input quality," said Mr. Thao, stating that the score distribution of the exam rounds is standard and stable.

Currently, 74 universities and academies have said they will use the results of the Hanoi National University's competency assessment exam for admission. Many schools have announced the minimum score for this method at 75-85.

This year, Hanoi National University organized 8 rounds of competency assessment exams from mid-March to early June. The number of candidates registered to take the exam for all 8 rounds to date has reached nearly 89,000.

This year's competency assessment test consists of three parts: Quantitative Thinking (Mathematics), Qualitative Thinking (Literature - Language) and Science (Natural - Social). Each part has 50 questions. Total test time is 195 minutes.

Of the 150 questions, 132 are multiple choice with one correct answer, and 18 are fill-in-the-blank (15 Math questions, three Physics, Chemistry, Biology questions). The knowledge asked is mainly from the 12th grade program.

Many candidates discovered that the Literature and Language exam questions overlapped between exam sessions, raising concerns about cheating. The school explained that repeating material does not mean repeating questions. The rate of repeating questions in each session is less than 0.5%.

Regarding the questions shared by some practice test groups on social networks, Hanoi National University has verified and will remove from the question bank questions with more than 50% similar content.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2022, schools will reserve more than 30,000 admission quotas based on scores from competency and thinking assessment exams. The admission rate by this method accounts for about 2% of the total number of candidates admitted by all methods.
