Fraudulent students participating in 'international exchanges'

Information from Can Tho University's leadership has just issued a warning that recently there have been many cases of students receiving fake documents from scammers impersonating Can Tho University.

There have been cases of fake documents appearing about short-term international student exchange scholarships "organized" by Can Tho University, with the aim of tricking students into registering to participate.

The fake documents are often aimed at new students entering the school year 2025, requesting personal documents, bank statements, etc. The documents also have a red stamp and a fake signature of Principal Tran Trung Tinh. Some students believed it was real so they texted Mr. Tinh directly to ask.

On September 22, the official Facebook page of Can Tho University issued a warning. Accordingly, scammers impersonate to invite registration for scholarship programs, international exchanges, internships... with the purpose of appropriating personal information and bank accounts. There are even cases of appropriating Zalo accounts, controlling, "online kidnapping" and blackmailing.

The school advises students not to believe in attractive offers, not to share personal information or transfer money to unclear programs.

When receiving information related to studying, students need to verify with teachers, friends or directly at the faculties, and be cautious with activities outside the school.
