What announcement did the Department of Education and Training make?

The discussion between local authorities and residents of Vinhomes Smart City on the afternoon of August 23rd concerned the desire of many parents to transfer their children to Tay Mo 3 Primary School.

According to the announcement, the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District has received 523 applications from parents in Tay Mo Ward requesting their children to transfer to Tay Mo 3 Primary School (Nam Tu Liem District). Of these, 230 students are currently studying at Ly Nam De Primary School (Tay Mo Ward), while the remaining 293 students are studying elsewhere.

The announcement from the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District categorizes the target groups into 3 as follows:

For the 230 students from Ly Nam De Primary School wishing to transfer to Tay Mo 3 Primary School: if you wish to continue studying at Ly Nam De Primary School, or transfer to Tay Mo Primary School, or transfer to Dai Mo 3 Primary School (Dai Mo Ward), please submit your new application to the school you wish to transfer to. The application period is from 2 PM on August 25th to 12 PM on August 26th, 2024.

For the remaining 293 students, if they wish to transfer to Tay Mo Primary School, Ly Nam De Primary School, or Dai Mo 3 Primary School (Dai Mo Ward), they should submit their new application to the schools they wish to transfer to. The application period is from 2 PM on August 25th to 12 PM on August 26th, 2024.

For the 1,111 students of Tay Mo 3 Primary School, if they wish to transfer back to Tay Mo Primary School, or to Ly Nam De Primary School, or Dai Mo 3 Primary School (Dai Mo Ward), they should submit their new application to the schools they wish to transfer to. The application period is from 2 PM on August 25th to 12 PM on August 26th, 2024.

Please note: When submitting the new application form (available at the school), parents should submit the original copy of the "Application Form" with the school's confirmation that they currently possess.

According to the plan to separate Dai Mo Primary School into Dai Mo Primary School and Dai Mo 3 Primary School (Plan No. 99/DA-UBND dated June 26, 2024) of the People's Committee of Dai Mo Ward, which has been approved by the People's Committee of the district), Dai Mo 3 Primary School can only accommodate an additional 190 students for all grade levels.

After 12 PM on August 26, 2024, schools will compile the applications and send them to the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District for consideration and resolution according to regulations, and announce the results before 2 PM on August 27, 2024.

During a meeting between local authorities and residents of Vinhomes Smart City on the afternoon of August 23rd, Ms. Do Thi Thuy Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District, stated that regarding the numerous requests from parents residing in Vinhomes Smart City for their children to be transferred to Tay Mo 3 Primary School according to the designated enrollment zone, the district has reviewed and considered these requests, determining them to be legitimate and appropriate. The district has agreed to try to accommodate all requests from parents for their children to attend public schools in the area, ensuring convenience for students and parents. The district will issue a final announcement to parents, tentatively on August 27th.”

Tay Mo 3 Primary School is a public school, built with public investment funds from the district (residents of Vinhomes Smart City urban area do not have to contribute) and was separated from Tay Mo Primary School. The school officially started operating in the 2024-2025 school year.
