In the 2024-2025 school year, Nghia Loi Kindergarten (Nghia Hung) organized a "Homemade Toys and Supplies" contest to improve the quality of education and help children develop comprehensively. The contest was attended by 8 kindergarten classes and 3 groups of children from 2 schools with many beautiful, creative products, ensuring scientific quality. The groups of classes brought to the contest sets of toys and supplies made from common, easy-to-find, economically efficient, inexpensive, friendly and safe materials for children; taking advantage of available materials to ensure durability and long-term use, improved from recycled materials to ensure safety such as shells, cardboard, plastic bottles, cake boxes, ice cream sticks, DVDs, coconut shells, sequins, wood... contributing to environmental protection, meeting the learning and playing needs of preschool children in the direction of "taking children as the center". This is also an opportunity for teachers to exchange and learn experiences, encourage and promote the initiative and creativity of the teaching staff, and meet the requirements of educational innovation.
Hong Quang Kindergarten (Nam Truc) has focused on guiding and advising teachers on how to make homemade toys and utensils; applying homemade toys and utensils to decorate classrooms and organize educational activities for children. From simple materials, utilized in daily life, most of which are scraps, through the skillful hands and creative imagination of teachers, countless funny, unique, practical, vivid and beautiful toys have been created. Children are very excited to learn and play with homemade toys, thereby contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education for them. In the process of making toys and utensils, teachers also skillfully let children combine them with simple details, thereby developing children's creativity, curiosity, and dexterity; at the same time, discovering children with artistic talent to have a direction to nurture them. Each lesson is fully equipped with vivid visual aids and tools that always make children interested in learning and enhance their cognitive abilities. Thanks to that, the quality of education, care and nurturing of children at the school is increasingly improved.
Currently, due to the many changes in teaching and learning requirements, in addition to improving the quality of the staff, to have equipment, toys, and teaching aids that are sufficient in quantity and suitable for the content of educational innovation, schools have many problems to solve. In the context of limited investment funds, the socialization of purchasing toys and teaching aids has many difficulties, the movement to encourage teachers in schools to make their own toys and teaching aids, launched and implemented by the Department of Education and Training, is really important and has high educational significance. Schools always consider the movement as one of the tasks and emulation targets for each teacher. Teachers also have a correct understanding of the role and importance of the movement, so they have actively participated. Therefore, the innovation of teaching content and methods, the movement of making toys and teaching aids by kindergartens has become a habit, helping schools to proactively control the number of toys and teaching aids.
With the policy of focusing on quality, not chasing after achievements, building prestige with the community, the preschool education sector has made efforts to apply many measures to maintain and improve the quality of child care and education, ensuring hygiene, nutrition and safety conditions for children. Most teachers have organized educational activities with many creativity and flexibility, knowing how to take advantage of available opportunities, exploiting network resources, choosing necessary information and teaching aids when organizing educational activities. Although having to invest a lot of time and effort, the effectiveness and effects of self-made teaching aids in the educational process have encouraged and motivated teachers to strive to overcome all difficulties, be passionate about creativity... contributing to improving the quality of class hours for students in schools. The homemade teaching aids in schools are mostly made from waste materials that seem to have no value anymore. Teachers have collected and gathered them to protect the environment and reuse them to create really funny tools and serve educational activities, helping children experience different learning opportunities when participating in these activities. Every year, the whole industry has tens of thousands of homemade teaching aids and toys put into teaching, many of which are durable, beautiful, have good pedagogical value, and have high use value as a means to support improving the quality of learning and playing for children, while creating opportunities for preschool teachers to promote their abilities and creativity in researching, improving, and making their own tools and toys for children to practically serve the new preschool education program.
The fact that preschool teachers create many tools and toys suitable for each topic, lesson content, and educational situations helps children develop their positivity and creativity in activities, thereby contributing to improving the quality of preschool education in the province. Every year, a total of 38.52% of children of preschool age go to nursery school, 97.17% of preschool children go to class, and 5-year-old children go to school, reaching 99.99% of the population of the age group. Most children achieve good results in cognitive, language, aesthetic, physical development... and are increasingly confident, proactive, and creative in participating in practical activities, direct experiences through the senses, and group activities, thereby having the opportunity to express their abilities, responding well to the new preschool education program.
