Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly visits famous Russian film and fine arts school

Within the framework of the official visit to Russia of General Secretary To Lam and his wife, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly visited the Russian State University of Cinematography named after SA Gerasimov (VGIK) and the Moscow State University of Fine Arts named after VISurikov.

Founded in September 1919, VGIK State University of Cinematography is one of the largest film institutions in the world .

Over the past half century, more than 140 Vietnamese students have been trained at VGIK, many of whom have become big names in Vietnamese cinema.

With its positive contributions in training generations of film staff and artists, and in strengthening and developing the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, in 2009,the President of Vietnam decided to award the Friendship Medal to the school.

Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly expressed her emotion when visiting the school with a long tradition and a great role in the seventh art. Notably, this is also the place where the late Associate Professor, Doctor, People's Artist Ngo Manh Lan - her father - studied and was considered a student who always achieved outstanding achievements.

Many famous Vietnamese film artists such as Bui Dinh Hac, Nguyen Khac Loi, Nguyen Thi Hong Ngát… all graduated from this school.

Madam Ngo Phuong Ly hopes that the two countries will continue to exchange students and cooperate in production to share experiences and connect souls who love art.

The Moscow State University of Fine Arts named after VISurikov is one of the leading art universities in Russia, the successor of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, founded in 1843.

The school is renowned for training artists and art theorists in the fields of training and expertise in painting, graphics, sculpture, architecture and art history.

Madam Ngo Phuong Ly emphasized that this is not only the cradle that trains talented Russian artists but also helps nurture and develop Vietnamese artistic talents.

Famous names in Vietnamese fine arts such as painter Tran Luu Hau, painter Phung Quoc Tri, sculptor Dao Chau Hai, painter Nguyen Quang Vinh, painter Nguyen Phuoc Sanh… all grew up from this school.

On this occasion, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly attended the painting exhibition "Vietnam - Russia Colors", displaying works by Vietnamese and Russian artists...
