Man City's squad overhaul means that three treble-winning heroes, Ederson, Akanji and Gundogan, must say goodbye to the Etihad Stadium on the last day of the summer transfer window.

Man City are undertaking a thorough overhaul, terminating Gundogan's contract early to free up wage bill and make room for a new squad.

It is known that Ilkay Gundogan was Pep's first contract at Man City in the summer of 2016. He stayed for 7 years before joining Barcelona.

Gundogan returned to the club in August 2024 and played 33 Premier League games last season. However, his form declined at the same time that Manchester City weakened.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper has fallen out of favor since they brought James Trafford on board. With the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Ederson's departure was predictable.

Meanwhile, Manuel Akanji joined Inter Milan on a one-season loan deal with an option to buy for £13 million.
