Vietnamese athletics team wins gold medal in 4x400m medley relay.
The Vietnamese athletics team's relay team, consisting of Ta Ngoc Tuong, Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Le Ngoc Phuc, and Nguyen Thi Hang, successfully defended their title in the 4x400m mixed relay.
Notably, the Vietnamese athletes beat the chasing Thai team with a time of 3 minutes 15 seconds 07, shattering the SEA Games record.
Athletics
Athlete Ngan Ngoc Nghia did not make it into the top 3 for a medal in the men's 200m final. The gold medal still went to Thai athletics prodigy Biu Puripol Boonson. Previously, the 19-year-old Thai "Lightning Bolt" had caused a sensation across Asia by achieving a time of 9.94 seconds in the 100m qualifying round, shattering the SEA Games record that had stood since 2009 (10.17 seconds held by Suryo Agung Wibowo). Boonson became the first person in the history of the Games to run the 100m in under 10 seconds.
Swimming - Vo Thi My Tien wins silver medal.
Vo Thi My Tien competed with great effort and finished second to win the silver medal in the women's 400m individual medley, with a time of 4 minutes 47 seconds 39. The gold medal went to the swimmer from Thailand.

Swimming won an additional bronze medal.
Swimmer Nguyen Thuy Hien finished third and won the bronze medal in the women's 100m breaststroke with a time of 1 minute 10 seconds 40.

Athletics - Nguyen Thi Oanh wins gold medal in 5,000m
Nguyen Thi Oanh and Le Thi Tuyet secured a double victory in the women's 5,000m race. The two Vietnamese runners quickly demonstrated their superiority and widened the gap with the rest of the group.

Vietnam's "Queen of Athletics" used a drafting tactic, running behind her teammate Le Thi Tuyet. As the race entered its final lap, Oanh decided to break away and sprinted to the finish line first. This is the first gold medal at this year's SEA Games and the 13th gold medal for the "petite runner" at the Games.

Swimming unexpectedly wins silver medal.
In the men's 200m freestyle final, Nguyen Huy Hoang finished only 4th, while Tran Van Nguyen Quoc made a spectacular sprint to finish 2nd. It's a great pity that the 17-year-old Vietnamese swimmer was only 0.6 seconds behind the Malaysian winner.

Nguyen Thi Oanh and Le Thi Tuyet entered the final of the women's 5000m race.
Weightlifting won a silver medal.
Nguyen Hoai Huong finished second overall with a lift of 197kg, winning the silver medal in the 53kg weight category. The gold medal went to the weightlifter from Thailand, while the representative from Myanmar won the bronze medal.

Nguyen Trung Cuong continued to employ the draft tactic throughout the race, but in the final lap he made an effort to accelerate and overtake, however, the Thai athlete was too strong in the sprint. The Vietnamese representative even finished only 4th. Le Tien Long also failed to make it into the medal-winning group.

Luong Duc Phuoc only finished 5th in the second heat of the qualifying round with a time of 1 minute 52 seconds 08, but the Vietnamese athlete finished 8th, just enough to qualify for the men's 800m final.


Athletics won a bronze medal in the triple jump.
In the women's triple jump final, Vu Thi Ngoc Ha finished third and won the bronze medal with a performance of 13.68m, while Nguyen Thi Huong finished fourth with a performance of 13.57m. The gold medal went to an Indonesian athlete, and the silver medal to a Thai athlete.
Judo won a bronze medal.
Vietnamese boxer Le Anh Tai defeated his Philippine opponent in the bronze medal match of the men's -90kg weight category.
Athletics
Two athletes, Vu Thi Ngoc Ha and Nguyen Thi Huong, have begun competing in the women's triple jump final.




Weightlifting wins another bronze medal.
Weightlifter K' Duong achieved a total lift of 289kg, finishing third and winning the bronze medal in the 60kg category. The host country's athlete from Thailand won the gold medal with a superior total lift of 304kg, while the representative from Indonesia took the silver medal.

Volleyball
The Vietnamese men's volleyball team secured an easy 3-0 victory against Laos (33 25-13, 25-20 and 25-14) in their opening match of the SEA Games 33.
Taekwondo brings Vietnam its 28th gold medal.
Athlete Tran Thi Anh Tuyet secured a thrilling victory against the host country's Thai fighter after three rounds in the women's -57kg final. This is the 28th gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.
Vietnamese Karate team achieves hat-trick of gold medals.
Karate continued to bring good news for the Vietnamese delegation. Vietnamese fighter Dinh Thi Huong staged an impressive comeback, winning overwhelmingly 8-5 against her Indonesian opponent in the -68kg sparring final. Huong successfully defended her SEA Games gold medal.
This is the third consecutive gold medal for the Vietnamese karate team.


Karate wins its second gold medal.
Just minutes after My Tam won the gold medal for Vietnamese karate, Nguyen Thanh Truong took the lead with a 4-1 victory over his Indonesian opponent in the -81kg weight class final.


Karate wins silver medal.
Vietnamese boxer Vo Van Hien lost 3-9 to an Indonesian athlete in the -75kg weight category final, thus receiving the silver medal.
Karate wins first gold medal.
Vietnamese karate fighter Hoang Thi My Tam brilliantly defeated her home opponent with a dominant score of 11-2 in the final of the under-61kg weight category. This is the first gold medal for the karate team and also the first gold medal of the day for the Vietnamese sports delegation.



Badminton has a bronze medal.
Vietnamese tennis players Vu Thi Trang and Bui Bich Phuong lost 0-2 to Kusuma and Puspitasari of Indonesia in the women's doubles semi-finals, thus receiving the bronze medal.
Bronze medal in weightlifting
Weightlifter Nguyen Thi Thu Trang finished third overall, thereby winning the bronze medal in the women's 48 kg category.

Weightlifter Nguyen Thi Thu Trang is competing in the 48kg category. The Vietnamese athlete has just successfully lifted 81kg in her second snatch attempt, temporarily taking the lead. Previously, she successfully lifted 78kg. In her final snatch attempt, Thu Trang easily lifted 83kg.


Shooting team won 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal.
The trio of shooters Phi Thanh Thao, Le Thi Mong Tuyen, and Nguyen Thi Thao won the silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle team event.
Meanwhile, shooter Le Thi Mong Tuyen finished third and won a bronze medal in the women's 10m individual air rifle event.

Mai Hoang My Trang ignited hope for the Vietnamese table tennis team by defeating her Thai opponents 3-1 in her singles match, part of the women's team event.

In the second round of the women's team event, the Vietnamese table tennis team is trailing Thailand 2-0. Hope now rests on Mai Hoang My Trang, and this veteran player just secured her first victory in the first set with a score of 11-9.

Shooting
The female shooters of the Vietnamese national shooting team, including Le Thi Mong Tuyen, Phi Thanh Thao, and Nguyen Thi Thao, are competing in the qualifying round of the women's 10m air rifle individual event.

Vietnam has two representatives in the 400m individual medley finals: Vo Thi My Tien (5 minutes 04 seconds 50) and Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet Han (5 minutes 07 seconds 93).

Swimmer Nguyen Thuy Hien achieved a time of 1 minute 11 seconds 96, thus qualifying for the top 8 athletes to advance to the final which will take place at 6:50 PM this afternoon.

In the men's 200m freestyle qualifying round, Nguyen Huy Hoang and Tran Van Nguyen Quoc both advanced to the final, which will take place at 6:40 PM this afternoon. Huy Hoang's time was 1 minute 51 seconds 69, while Nguyen Quoc achieved a time of 1 minute 52 seconds 23.

Swim
Both athletes Duong Van Hoang Quy and Nguyen Viet Tuong failed to qualify for the men's 100m butterfly event.
