The wives of the Vietnamese and Philippine leaders enjoyed flower viewing, tea tasting, and socializing with locals in Hanoi's Old Quarter.

Mrs. Phan Thi Thanh Tam, wife of President Vo Van Thuong, and Mrs. Liza Araneta Marcos, wife of Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., took a stroll through Hanoi's Old Quarter today.
This was part of the activities during the state visit of President Marcos Jr. and his wife to Vietnam on January 29-30.


The First Lady of Vietnam and the First Lady of the Philippines visit the flower market and choose peach blossom branches on Hang Luoc Street.
Hang Luoc Flower Market is a traditional flower market that only convenes once a year during the Lunar New Year. The market spans four streets: Hang Luoc, Hang Ma, Hang Khoai, and Hang Ruoi. Visiting Hang Luoc market to buy and admire flowers is a long-standing cultural tradition of the people of Hanoi.




The two ladies enjoyed tea together with rice cakes and lotus seeds.

The two ladies held hands and danced a traditional dance with the locals on Phung Hung Street.
Liza Marcos, whose full name is Marie Louise Araneta Marcos, is a lawyer and scholar who has taught at several Philippine universities. She served as a leading strategist in Marcos Jr.'s election campaign and is considered a key figure in the current Philippine cabinet.
