Phu Quoc has smart electric buses that provide free service to tourists.

On June 29, Mr. Le Viet Bac, Director of the Department of Transport of Kien Giang province, announced that the unit had just signed a decision approving and announcing the opening of an inter-provincial public bus transport route in Phu Quoc City.

Accordingly, the Kien Giang Department of Transport has licensed the operation of two inter-provincial public passenger transport routes by bus in Phu Quoc: the Bai Truong - Duong Dong route and the Ganh Dau - Duong Dong route.

VinBus electric buses stop to pick up passengers on Tran Hung Dao Street, Duong Dong Ward, Phu Quoc City.

This is the first smart electric bus route operating in Phu Quoc, managed by Phu Quoc Tourism Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.

The Bai Truong - Duong Dong route (route number 19) covers a distance of 12.5 km, passing through the central streets of Duong Dong Ward such as Vo Van Kiet - Nguyen Trung Truc - Hung Vuong - 30 Thang 4 - Tran Hung Dao to the main road of Bai Truong. Operating hours are from 5 AM to 12 AM daily. The fare is 30,000 VND per passenger per trip. There are 8 buses in operation.

The Ganh Dau - Duong Dong route (route number 17) covers a distance of 44 km, from Ganh Dau (T2 Grand World parking lot) - DT. 975B - Cua Can - Vo Van Kiet - Nguyen Trung Truc - Tran Hung Dao - Phu Quoc Highway - Phu Quoc International Airport and vice versa. Operating hours are from 5:30 AM to midnight daily. The fare is 60,000 VND per passenger per trip. There are 6 buses.

Each vehicle has a capacity of 28 seats, is 100% new, uses an environmentally friendly electric motor, and is equipped with air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, and facilities for people with disabilities.

According to the operating unit, the launch of this bus route will help connect famous tourist destinations and hotels in Phu Quoc, providing a seamless experience for tourists day and night; while also minimizing transportation costs for tourists and contributing to stimulating tourism in Phu Quoc.

Currently, VinBus is offering free bus services on Phu Quoc routes until the end of 2023.
