On the morning of May 26, the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kim Tan Ward, Lao Cai City held a ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ward's founding (June 3, 1993 - June 3, 2023).
Attending the ceremony were comrades of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, socio -political organizations, departments, offices, functional units, communes and wards of the city; veteran revolutionary cadres, former leaders of the province and city and generations of cadres and people of the ward through the periods.
The speech presented at the ceremony outlined the overall picture of the construction and development process of the ward over the past 30 years. It emphasized: In 1992, Lao Cai provincial town was re-established, on June 3, 1993, the Government issued Decree No. 31/CP on the establishment of wards in Lao Cai town, including upgrading Kim Tan sub-area to Kim Tan ward. In the early days of establishment, the ward's facilities and technical infrastructure were lacking: 90% of households lived in temporary houses; the educational level of the people was uneven; the economy was still backward; the lives of the ethnic people were still very difficult...
After 30 years of construction and development, with the attention, direction and investment of the province and city, with solidarity, dynamism, creativity, self-reliance, self-improvement, and the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the Party Committee, government, army and people of all ethnic groups and wards have made remarkable progress in all areas. Notably, the economy has continuously grown at a high rate, with an average of over 10% per year in the period of 1993 - 2022; average income reaching 125 million VND/person/year. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction, with diverse development of trade and services. The urban area has been planned, managed and built in a synchronous manner and with a long-term vision, contributing to creating the image of a civilized and modern Kim Tan urban area. Culture and society have continuously improved, the grassroots health system has been invested in, and the quality of health care for the people has been improved. The movement to build a new cultural life, build new rural areas and civilized urban areas has been supported by the people. In 2005, the ward had 280 poor households, and now the number of poor households has been eliminated. National defense and security have been firmly consolidated; political security, order and social safety have been ensured.
Promoting the achieved results, closely following the general development orientation of the city, in the coming time, Kim Tan ward will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, effectively implement propaganda, political and ideological education so that cadres, party members and people are unanimous and determined to build Kim Tan ward more and more civilized and prosperous; strengthen planning management, land management, construction, environmental protection; focus on implementing Directive 03 of the City Party Committee to strengthen leadership in environmental protection, building a "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" city; focus on developing culture, education, health care, and effectively solving social issues. Continue to improve the leadership and management capacity of the government, maintain discipline, promote collective intelligence; strengthen administrative reform, and further promote the role and responsibility of the entire political system.
At the celebration, authorized by the Standing Committee of Lao Cai City Party Committee, the Prime Minister's Emulation Flag was awarded to the People and cadres of Kim Tan Ward for their excellent and comprehensive completion of their tasks, leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2022 of Lao Cai province; Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee to 10 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the special emulation campaign to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Kim Tan Ward.
