Nghia Lo Ward donated more than 21 million VND to support flood victims

Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Lao Cai province to support people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10, on the afternoon of October 9, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Lo ward launched a movement to raise donations and support people in areas affected by floods.

Storm No. 10 caused heavy rain over a large area in Lao Cai province, leaving behind serious damage to people and property; nearly 12,000 houses were damaged, with total damage estimated at about VND2,750 billion.

Promoting the tradition of “The healthy leaves cover the torn leaves” , the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Lo Ward calls on cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, businesses, households and philanthropists to actively participate in support. Each cadre, civil servant, public employee supports at least one day's salary; each household and individual supports from 20,000 VND or more, depending on their ability.

At the end of the launching session, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Lo Ward received over 21 million VND and immediately transferred it to the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to promptly support people in flood-affected areas to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
