According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tang Nhon Phu Ward Phan Ngoc Tan, the ward considers fire prevention and fighting as one of the top priorities to ensure social order and safety. However, violations still exist in the area.

In addition, many residential areas are densely populated, have deep alleys, houses are closely connected, have unsafe electrical connections that can easily cause short circuits, and are not equipped with basic fire fighting equipment such as fire extinguishers and demolition tools.

Authorities and neighborhood officials disseminate information to residents about fire prevention and rescue work.

Many houses that combine production and business display flammable goods at the entrance, which do not ensure fire safety, and do not have a second escape route in case of fire. Some apartments and individual houses install and extend iron frames at the balconies and loggias of apartment blocks and individual houses, creating "tiger cages", causing many difficulties in fire prevention and rescue work when an incident occurs, with unpredictable consequences for people's health, lives and property.

Faced with the above situation, Tang Nhon Phu ward has further promoted fire prevention and fighting propaganda and strengthened inspection and strictly handled violations of fire prevention and fighting laws.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tang Nhon Phu Ward requested people to strictly comply with the regulations and laws on fire safety; dismantle all iron cages and "tiger cages", create a second escape route, to protect the lives, health and property of individuals, families and people around.

“In the immediate future, the Ward People's Committee will direct the Ward Police, neighborhood protection teams, grassroots security forces, and militia in neighborhoods to regularly check and inspect locations, apartment buildings, and boarding houses - places at risk of fire, explosion, and electrical short circuits - to thoroughly handle them,” informed Mr. Phan Ngoc Tan.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented 17 fire extinguishers to local households.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the working groups moved to the areas to propagate and mobilize people to be vigilant against fires and explosions; mobilized people to dismantle "tiger cages" themselves and proceeded to dismantle "tiger cages" in some households.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police) coordinated with the People's Committees of wards and communes of Ho Chi Minh City to organize a ceremony to propagate fire prevention and rescue, mobilize people to dismantle "tiger cages" and open second escape routes in apartment buildings and houses with many apartments throughout Ho Chi Minh City.
