According to Phan Ngoc Tan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tang Nhon Phu Ward, the ward considers fire prevention and control as one of its top priorities to ensure social security and order. However, violations still exist in the area.
Furthermore, many densely populated areas have narrow alleys, houses built close together, unsafe electrical wiring that easily causes short circuits, and a lack of basic fire safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and demolition tools.

Many mixed-use buildings, combining residential and commercial purposes, display flammable goods at the entrances, failing to meet fire safety standards and lacking a second escape route in case of fire, making escape impossible. Some apartment buildings and individual houses have installed or extended iron frames on balconies and loggias, creating "tiger cages," which greatly hinder fire prevention and rescue efforts in case of an incident, posing immeasurable risks to people's health, lives, and property.
In response to this situation, Tang Nhon Phu ward is further strengthening fire prevention and control awareness campaigns and intensifying inspections, strictly handling cases of violations of fire safety laws.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tang Nhon Phu Ward requested residents to strictly comply with the regulations and laws on fire safety; dismantle all iron cages and "tiger cages" to create a second escape route, in order to protect the safety of lives, health, and property of individuals, families, and those around them.
"Currently, the People's Committee of the ward is directing the ward police, neighborhood security teams, local security forces, and militia in each neighborhood to regularly review and inspect locations, apartment buildings, and lodging houses – places with a high risk of fire, explosions, and electrical short circuits – to thoroughly address the issue," Mr. Phan Ngoc Tan informed.

At the ceremony, the organizers presented 17 fire extinguishers to families in the area.
Immediately after the launch ceremony, the task forces moved to various areas to raise awareness and encourage people to be vigilant against fires and explosions; to encourage people to voluntarily dismantle "tiger cages" (illegible roof structures) and to proceed with dismantling "tiger cages" at some households.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police) coordinated with the People's Committees of wards and communes in Ho Chi Minh City to organize a campaign to raise awareness about fire prevention and rescue, encouraging people to dismantle iron cages ("tiger cages") and create second escape routes in apartment buildings and multi-apartment houses throughout Ho Chi Minh City.
