After winning the Premier League title early, Liverpool manager Arne Slot deliberately left out many key players when traveling to Chelsea's Stamford Bridge. Although Liverpool still controlled the ball better, their finishing ability was ineffective.

Meanwhile, home team Chelsea took just 3 minutes to open the scoring against Liverpool's vulnerable defense. Enzo Fernandes was the one who entered the penalty area and scored in an open position.

Chelsea's second goal came in the 56th minute when they created a chaotic situation in the Liverpool penalty area. Van Dijk was the one to clear the ball but it hit teammate Quansah and went back into the net.

It wasn't until the 85th minute that Van Dijk was able to make amends with a header to reduce the score to 1-2. But Chelsea still came away with 3 points when Cole Palmer sealed a 3-1 victory in the 90+6 minute.

This victory helps Chelsea temporarily enter the top 5 with 63 points and hope to win a ticket to the Champions League next season.

Previously, MU unexpectedly lost 3-4 to Brentford in round 35, thereby re-establishing an unwanted record in the highest league in England.

Having secured their place in the league, the "Red Devils" kept almost all of their starting players on the bench to save energy for the second leg of the Europa League semi-final next week.

Losing to Brentford, MU suffered its 16th defeat of the season. The "Red Half of Manchester" has 39 points, temporarily ranked 15th. If they play at their current form, MU can completely drop to 17th place by the end of the season.

With 16 losses this season, MU set a sad record as this is the season they have lost the most in the past 35 years. The last time the "Red Devils" lost 16 matches in the English Championship was the 1989-1990 season.
