The final round of the 2024/25 Premier League opens up an unprecedented prospect: the most exciting league on the planet could potentially contribute up to 10 representatives to continental competitions next season.

Tottenham secured their place in the Champions League by winning the Europa League.

Currently, the top seven teams in the league table are guaranteed a place in European competitions, but that number could increase if other conditions are met. Thanks to the outstanding performance of English clubs in UEFA this season, the Premier League has been awarded an additional Champions League spot, bringing the total number of teams participating in Europe's most prestigious tournament to six.

The top five teams in the group will qualify directly for the Champions League, along with Tottenham, who secured their place after winning the Europa League 1-0 against Manchester United on May 22nd. Currently, Liverpool and Arsenal are guaranteed spots thanks to their Premier League rankings, while the remaining three positions are a fierce battle between Manchester City, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest.

In the Europa League, the first spot goes to the team in sixth place, while the second is guaranteed for Crystal Palace. The London club qualified for European competition for the first time in history after causing a shock 1-0 victory over Man City in the FA Cup final on May 17th.

Meanwhile, Newcastle currently holds a Conference League spot thanks to their League Cup victory. However, the team in eighth place could still secure the next spot if Chelsea win the Conference League this season. If Chelsea qualify for the Europa League, the Conference League spot would then be given to the team in eighth place.

The competition for this position is a two-horse race between Brighton and Brentford. Brighton only needs a draw against Tottenham to maintain their position, while Brentford must win against Wolves and hope Brighton slips up to have a chance of overtaking them based on goal difference.

If all goes according to plan, the Premier League will have 10 out of 20 teams participating in European competitions in the 2025/26 season, a record number reflecting the increasing depth and strength of English football on the continental map.
