The 2024/25 Champions League marks a turning point with its new format, and along with that, the prize money for the teams has increased significantly, with PSG and Inter Milan being the clubs that earned the most.
Specifically, on that triumphant day at Allianz Arena (Munich, Germany), crushing Inter Milan 5-0, in addition to the prestigious Champions League trophy, qualification for the UEFA Super Cup (against Tottenham on August 13th), and a ticket to the FIFA Club World Cup 2029, PSG received 25 million euros in prize money. For Inter, that figure was 18.5 million euros.
According to calculations made throughout the 2024/25 Champions League season, the total prize money PSG received from UEFA amounted to approximately 148.4 million euros (source: Foot Meets Data).
According to L'Equipe, the total prize money PSG earned from winning the Champions League was six times higher than what the club received from Ligue 1 television rights.
Under Luis Enrique, PSG, without their star player Kylian Mbappe (who moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024), has become a unified, cohesive unit, creating a distinct strength compared to their previous seasons.
The fact that the wealthy French club finally fulfilled their long-awaited Champions League dream concludes a spectacular 'first' campaign for many clubs across Europe.
